IT Manager (f/m/d)

For over 70 years, the Dresden Transport Museum has been showing exhibits on the history of the individual transport branches of rail transport, road transport, air transport and shipping on 5,000 square meters of exhibition space. In addition, there are annually changing special exhibitions on various aspects of mobility of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Located next to the Frauenkirche, the Transport Museum is one of Dresden's most popular cultural institutions, attracting around 200,000 visitors every year.

The Verkehrsmuseum Dresden gGmbH is looking to fill a permanent position (full-time 40 hours/week or part-time possible) as IT Manager (f/m/d) at the beginning of 2025.

Your Tasks

• First-level support for all employees at the Johanneum
• Second-level support as coordinator of all requests and problems with our external IT service provider
• Third-level support as coordinator of all requests and problems with the external companies of the specialist applications
  
  

(museum database, visitor management, accounting, working time recording, ticket system)

• Management of the analog telephone system and mobile device management of cell phones
• Development, programming and support of multimedia projects in collaboration with the
  
  

Exhibition managers and external companies

• Preparation and conversion of audio and video content for permanent and special exhibitions
• Support and handling of audio and video technology for events in collaboration with the
  
  

Public relations and external companies, including evenings and weekends

Optional At a Later Date

• Proactive support of the IT hardware and software environment (Windows-based client-server system)
• Analysis and rectification of errors, faults and problems in the same
• Updating, maintaining, repairing and documenting them
• Responsibility for firewall, virus protection, data backup and data protection in the network (LAN and WLAN,
  
  

Connection of remote locations)

• Technical support for online systems (M365, Nextcloud, website, Android and iOS apps, digital signage)
• Design, planning, procurement, installation and configuration of new hardware and software components

Your Profile

• Degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience in IT level support
• Experience with audio and video formats
  
  

For the optional tasks

• Experience as a system administrator and extensive IT knowledge, especially of standard software such as M365
• In-depth knowledge of the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of the Windows network operating system
• Experience in dealing with Hyper-V, LAN and WLAN networks, Sophos firewall and related technologies
  
  

As a team player with great initiative, you see yourself as an internal service provider with high service standards. You have the ability to work independently, systematically and analytically. You are very responsible and have the ability to assess the risks of your own actions. A willingness to work in the evenings, at weekends and on public holidays is occasionally necessary and expected of you.
