Health Safety Environment Officer

Strategic Staffing International’s Customer, KN Energies (one of the largest companies of energy resources logistics in the Baltic States, specializing in oil and gas industry) has recently won a tender launched by Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH (DET), the state-owned entity, to provide technical operation and maintenance services for the LNG terminal Wilhelmshaven.

We are looking for an HSE Officer in an FSRU based LNG import terminal in Wilhelmshaven.

Brief responsibilities include management of integrated HSEQ System and implementation of ERP, constant assessment and renewal of HSEQ risks, participation in audits and inspections while ensuring compliance with applicable rules, regulations, operational and HSEQ KPIs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, maintain, and improve Integrated HSEQ Management System
• Ensure compliance and implementation of requirements arising from local and national legislation
• Implement organization’s HSEQ policy, ensure familiarization for relevant internal and external stakeholders
• Track, monitor, and strive to reach HSEQ objectives and KPIs, report progress
• Ensure overall emergency preparedness for the organization, review and update emergency response plan as may be required, organize emergency drills
• Identify and track employee training requirements, organize trainings
• Establish and maintain Permit to Work system
• Plan and conduct internal audits, coordinate inspections and third-party audits, coordinate finding elimination process
• Procure and manage Personal Protective Equipment, ensure safety needs for the employees are met
• Review, revise, and update HSEQ-related risks
• Prepare and implement communications plan for HSEQ activities and legislative changes to ensure awareness for staff
• Register and investigate HSE incidents, coordinate follow-up actions

QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATES AND EXPERIENCE:

• University degree in engineering, environmental and safety or related field
• 3 years+ experience as HSEQ manager or HSE Coordinator in oil and natural gas, petrochemical, power generation or other production company or logistic/transportation sector
• In depth knowledge and practical application of Health & Safety Legislation
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14 001, 45 001 standards would be considered as an advantage;
• Experience in preparing and maintaining professional documentation related to integrated HSEQ management systems
• Fluency (B2 or higher) in English and German languages

Salary: 55,000-80,000 EUR gross annually (depending on your skills and competencies)
