Head of Sales (DACH & Retail)
with a direct reporting line to the Managing Director of the company
Location Frankfurt a.M. or Munich (Germany)
Mission / Purpose
As a member of the management team, define a forward-looking growth-focused sales strategy and execute on strategic sales and business plans and align all sales activities with the company's and group's vision, strategy, and objectives
Lead and directs a multi-role team of sales specialists (DACH), key account managers, and marketing and nurture a culture of value selling and trusted advisor relationship management
Analyze and anticipate industry-specific trends and customer segments, compile market, customer, trend, and competitor insights - Conduct sales planning, forecasting, and budgeting and management information dashboards
Define sales tactics, tailored customer segment approaches, and collaborate across all relevant functions to achieve set sales goals - enhance/optimize tailored pricing system
Focus the sales organization on sustainability-based client solutions and emphasize "green" approaches in combination with smart solutions - build and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers
Proactively foster innovation, creativity and customer-focus in close collaboration with product development
Build and develop the sales team by driving the team's skills development and inspiring them to align behind the objectives, creating a spirit of collaboration, engagement, and sharing of best practices (based on KPIs / OKRs)
Position the sales organization to proactively develop new markets and customer segments, co-develop new product lines, and educate the customer to anticipate future trends
Skills & Experience
College or university degree in the field of engineering, business, or other equivalent education and/or experience
10+ years of practical experience in strategic sales / customer relationship management and/or (leading) sales functions
In-depth knowledge of leading a sales organization and achieving sustainable growth
Familiarity with the 2-tier and 3-tier sales/distribution chains and project-driven (specification-based) sales organization
