Job Title: Sales Manager


Location: Baden-Württemberg, Germany (Open to candidates across Germany)

Job Summary: They are seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales Manager to join their team. This role is crucial for developing and executing strategic sales plans, ramping up business growth, and road mapping future strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in road freight express services and be fluent in both German and English. The Sales Manager will focus on account retention, strategically acquiring new clients, and enhancing the company's diverse profile. Additionally, the role involves liaising with and guiding the sales team and having a strong understanding of RFQs and the tender management process. This position offers significant scope for progression and development within a rapidly growing company.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive business growth in the express logistics sector.
  • Create detailed road maps to achieve short-term and long-term sales objectives.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.


Client and Customer Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, resolving issues, and providing exceptional service.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to understand their logistics needs and propose tailored solutions.


Account Retention and Development:

  • Focus on retaining existing accounts through excellent service and relationship management.
  • Strategically identify and acquire new clients to expand the company's customer base.
  • Build and enhance the company's diverse profile through strategic client engagement and service excellence.


Sales Team Liaison and Guidance:

  • Lead, mentor, and guide the sales team to achieve their targets and improve their sales skills.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration within the sales team to ensure alignment with the company's strategic goals.


RFQ and Tender Management:

  • Manage the Request for Quotation (RFQ) and tender process, ensuring accurate and competitive submissions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the tender management process to secure new business opportunities.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis to senior management.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine sales strategies and improve overall sales effectiveness.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager in the logistics or express services industry, with a focus on road freight express services.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in both German and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and customers.


Preferred Skills:

  • MBA or degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with digital sales tools and analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of international logistics and cross-border shipping.
  • Strong understanding of RFQs and the tender management process.
