Head of Information Technology

OUR NEW TEAM

We are looking for a Head of Technology to join our Product & Tech department with a primary focus on execution delivery, system architecture, and platform stability. Our department consists of 60 multinational colleagues distributed across 10 cross-functional teams mainly based in Berlin, Hamburg, and Braunschweig. Together, we are responsible for the core of our business—our innovative platform—delivering top-notch comparison experiences for B2C customers, affiliates, and B2B partners.

What You Will Be Doing

• Support teams in executing and delivering high-quality features and improvements in line with agreed concepts, technical guidelines, and architecture.
• Conduct concept sparring and reviews concerning approach and effort estimations.
• Define and oversee the decision-making process on system architecture and technical roadmap.
• Collaborate closely with teams, POs, Product & Tech leads, and stakeholders from other departments to gain a deep understanding of the platform, processes, and business needs.
• Lead by example and communicate the rationale behind decisions in a collaborative manner.

YOUR PROFILE

• Hands-on, empathetic leader enthusiastic about driving progress in a highly collaborative environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading tech teams and ensuring excellent tech execution and delivery.
• Experience in building and running tech organizations within larger startup-like companies or grown-ups with flat hierarchies; familiarity with network organizations and/or servant leadership is a plus.
• Proficiency in working in data and KPI-intensive environments using event-based architecture and data platforms.
• Experience with React and NextJS.
• Deep knowledge of NodeJs, Typescript, and Golang for backend development.
• Capability to lead discussions on cloud infrastructures with containerized microservices in AWS and Kubernetes (EKS).
