Position Overview

As the Head of Finance, you will lead our financial strategy and operations, driving financial performance, risk management, and long-term planning. Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating with the executive team, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of our company.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy and Leadership

• Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Provide strategic financial insights to the executive team to support business growth and decision-making.

2. Financial Operations and Controls

• Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and financial compliance.
• Ensure robust financial controls and procedures are in place to safeguard company assets.
• Lead the implementation of financial systems and technology to enhance efficiency.

3. Risk Management and Compliance

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework.
• Ensure compliance with German and international financial regulations and standards.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.

4. Performance Management and Reporting

• Lead the preparation of financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support performance improvement.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance.

5. Investment and Capital Management

• Manage capital allocation, funding strategies, and investment decisions.
• Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow management and debt financing.
• Evaluate and execute opportunities for project financing and investment.

6. Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to build a high-performing and motivated department.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven track record in the renewable energy sector, with a deep understanding of its financial dynamics.
• Experience in financial strategy, planning, analysis, and risk management within a renewable energy company.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS.
• Fluent in English and German.

Preferred:

• Experience with financial technology and ERP systems.
• Exposure to international financial management and multi-jurisdictional operations.
• Demonstrated success in project financing and capital markets.
