Evaluation Engineer (Mechanical)

A well-established Japanese manufacturer in the automotive industry in Germany is currently looking to recruit an Evaluation and Testing Engineer at their Düsseldorf office.

This role is ideal for someone who is willing to build a career in Development Engineering, such as a recent graduate of a related Engineering course, or someone with already a few years of experience.

Fluency in written and spoken English and German is required for this role, as well as a driving licence.

Location: Dusseldorf, Germany (hybrid working available)

Industry: Automotive Sealing Solutions

Salary: €50-65k per year

Evaluation Engineer Responsibilities:

• Test setup / test equipment operation / report
• Development of sealing systems in the area of the vehicle powertrain in cooperation with the individual customers
• Constructive realization of the design solutions under consideration of the cost-optimal, technical representation of the components
• Coordination of test scopes and sample parts as well as documentation of the respective project
• Monitoring of the component release process
• Monitoring of QM measures as well as adjusting and entering changes and improvements
• Project management
• Market Research and benchmark study

Evaluation Engineer Required Knowledge/Experience:

• Strong German and English skills
• Engineer specializing in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or comparable qualification
• Any previous hands-on test / repair / evaluation experience is advantageous
• Initial experience in vehicle development in the area of functional parts and seals in the powertrain desirable
• Sound knowledge of Siemens NX/ CATIA V5/ Pro E, STEP
• Sound knowledge in the field of elastomers and plastics desirable
• Experience in dealing with development partners in the field of seal development desirable
• Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team and structured way of working
