Job Title: Chief Information Officer (CIO) / Tech Operating Partner

Location: Munich, Germany (must be travel flexible)

Salary: Circa €150k + bonus + investment opportunities.

Position Overview: Finatal is partnered with a leading German Private Equity fund, looking for a Private Equity-seasoned CIO. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record from IT services and Private Equity-backed portfolio companies. Fluency in German is required for this role and the base location is Munich, but candidates must be travel flexible to support the portfolio companies across Germany.


Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement comprehensive technology strategies for portfolio companies, aligning with overall business goals and objectives.

· Assess and enhance IT infrastructure, systems, and processes to drive efficiency, scalability, and security.

· Lead digital transformation initiatives, including cloud migration, cybersecurity, data analytics, and automation.

· Provide strategic guidance and operational support to portfolio company IT leadership teams.

· Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends that could impact portfolio company performance.

· Collaborate with investment teams to conduct technology due diligence for potential acquisitions.

· Drive post-acquisition technology integration and value creation initiatives.

· Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and best practices across portfolio companies.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, IT leaders, and external partners.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

· 10+ years of experience in a senior IT leadership role, preferably as a CIO or equivalent, with a strong background in IT services.

· Proven private equity experience is mandatory.

· Fluency in German is required.

· Proven experience in developing and executing technology strategies that drive business growth and operational efficiency.

· Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation and innovation initiatives.

· Expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, and enterprise applications.

· Strong understanding of private equity operations and the unique challenges of portfolio companies.

· Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

· Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
