Enter the fascinating world of the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and help shape the future through research and innovation! We offer an exciting and inspiring working environment driven by the expertise and curiosity of our 11,000 employees from 100 nations and our unique infrastructure. Together, we develop sustainable technologies and thus contribute to finding solutions to global challenges. Would you like to join us in addressing this major future challenge? Then this is your place! For our Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics, Dep. Electrochemical Energy Technology in Oldenburg we are looking for
Chemist, Materials Scientist, Physicist or similar (w/m/d)
Doctorate in the field of electrocatalysts for ammonia synthesis and utilisationWhat to expect: At the Institute of EngineeringThermodynamics, the Electrochemical Energy Technology department is developing innovative technologies for a future with renewable energies. Two of these technologies, which are being investigated at the Oldenburg site, are based on ammonia as a hydrogen derivative.
On the one hand, materials such as the catalysts for efficient electrochemical synthesis of ammonia still need to be fundamentally developed and tested in terms of activity, selectivity and stability. On the other hand, we are working intensively on the development of materials for fuel cells at the Oldenburg site. This includes the development of efficient catalysts for low-temperature direct ammonia fuel cells and their incorporation into membrane electrode assemblies. Novel materials are analysed electrochemically in three-electrode set-ups as well as using physical and chemical characterisation methods.
Within the framework of two vacant positions, doctoral students have the opportunity to actively help shape solutions to these challenges. Become part of our team and contribute to the following tasks, among others:
Duration of contract: 3 years
Type of employment: Part time (75 %) Remuneration: up to German TVöD 13 Vacancy-ID: 96049 Contact:
