Position Purpose

In this role, you will support the German Business Development team and form an integral part of the overall prospect business within the Institutional and Wholesale team. The purpose of this role is to provide a sales support function, primarily helping the team to uncover new business and qualified prospective clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively participate in pre-sales preparation by monitoring the market via wire service and industry media to identify opportunities, reviewing presentations and company research to support the business development team. In addition, you will handle written communication to and from prospects, coordinating calls and meetings, and fielding queries on behalf of the team
  • Act as a link between the sales team and other internal areas of the business such as marketing, product, compliance and the RFP team
  • Working with the team, Marketing and Investment Specialists to identify gaps in collateral and support the information gathering process
  • Collaborating with Marketing team to plan and host successful prospect and networking events as well as organising logistics for upcoming conferences and events, collation of distribution lists for various marketing campaigns, and complete marketing campaigns on behalf of the EMEA Business Development team with online Marketing
  • Assisting in completing periodical reporting relating to various elements of activity undertaken by the sales team
  • Assisting in the RFP process, working closely with the RFP team so ensure RFPs are produced accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Participating in events across Germany / Austria (industry events or asset class specific with FSI sponsoring)
  • Use of Salesforce including but not limited to cross referencing and uploading/updating of prospects into Salesforce, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date on behalf of the team ie. opportunities, contacts, meetings notes.
  • Campaign management in Salesforce for all Prospect events and produce regular reporting on opportunities and overall sales pipeline.


Required Capabilities

  • Previous experience in business development, consultant relations or client service
  • Previous experience with SalesForce and Morningstar would be highly desirable
  • Fluency in English and German is essential with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and potential clients
  • Adaptable and pragmatic approach to working in a changing environment with a high degree of commitment and loyalty
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Accurate and efficient with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills in order to achieve deadlines
  • Excellent numeracy skills with ability to interpret data
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages such as PowerPoint and Excel
