Overview

Permanent, full-time, hybrid (3 days per week in an office)

To assist the Head of Finance Europe (based in Frankfurt), and through him regional Chief Financial Officer based in London in the monthly accounting cycle and undertake financial & management accounting tasks as required in respect of SFEG and other group companies in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Performance of accounting, reporting and tax activities throughout the month, including but not limited to monthly accounts preparation, detailed balance sheet reconciliations and front office variable Validation and commentary of monthly results.
  • Responsibility for the monthly payroll process .
  • Responsibility for the preparation of the year-end financial statement and coordination with local
  • Responsibility for the topics regarding Tax Law compliance, coordination of the tax audits.
  • Responsibility for the local budgeting process and coordination with the SFL
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting to the local management monthly reporti ng for the business, including management accounts, KPI reporting and analysis
  • Optimization and enhancement of accounting, reporting and analysis processes and ensure an effective and robust finance function.
  • Enhancement of the Group’s Oracle accounting system , as adapted for Luxembourg and other European entities, EU lead for the further ORACLE integration across the European entities.
  • Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements (VAT, Business Tax, IFR/IFD, etc.).
  • Train on the technical subjects and provide cover for other members of the European team


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Audit etc.; ACCA, CPA & MBA are highly desirable.
  • At least several years experiences in Finance, preferably in multinational financial services companies.
  • Previous professional experience as a qualified accountant with knowledge in tax advising being considered as advantageous.
  • High level understanding / knowledge of Luxembourg accounting/company laws, tax laws and regulations.
  • Previous experience working within a regulated environment and exposure to Sarbanes Oxley requirements; controls surrounding division of
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping procedures including crediting and debiting appropriate accounts, posting entries to ledger accounts, and reconciling accounts
  • Good experience of monthly and daily routine processes , monthly and yearly tax filing processes, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience in planning and budgeting processes .
  • Project Management experience and experiences in implementation of ERP systems.
  • Advanced-level MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point experience. Familiarity with database queries is highly desirable. Previous exposure to Lux GAAP, IFRS, MS Office and ORACLE and DATEV would be an advantage.
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English/German, good knowledge of French is considered as an asset.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to ensure deadlines are met and issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
