💡 Methodology for a Chassis NVH analysis based on a novel test rig with variable excitation mechanisms By utilizing the NVH Chassis test rig by our research partner the Institut für Kraftfahrzeuge (ika) - RWTH Aachen University we were able to develop and chassis components – e.g. an elastomer bushing for the superimposed excitation by tyre-road interaction on the one hand and by the electric engine on the other. Since the measured data often deviates from the desired data, a correction is necessary in post-processing. In the data evaluation (2), the transformation of forces and moments should be emphasized. That way, we determine the loads actually acting at the point of interest: the center of the bushing. The market leading particle-based CFD-simulation-solution #PreonLab again pushes the boundaries of what’s possible: Here’s what you need to do efficient and accurate simulation of vehicle water management simulations: ➡️ Refinement and coarsening: The Continuous Particle Size (CPS)-model enables the simulation of small water-wetted areas in large domains. ⛔Without CPS you simply cannot do applications like aquaplaning. ➡️ Car suspension model: The water wading simulation must consider the vehicle and car suspension behavior like the deflection of springs. ⛔Without considering the car suspension, the simulation results are useless. ➡️ #GPU: Simulations with #PreonLab run on single- or multi-GPU systems. One GPU can replace 500 CPU cores. The speed-up you gain with GPU enables a speed up of up to 10 or the simulation of applications which have not been possible so far. ⛔ Without a GPU capable code, you cannot virtualize your water management development efficiently. ➡️ It’s not only water – also mud and #snow are relevant: Realistic and validated material models for mud and snow enable the evaluation of soiling and snow accumulation. ⛔ Without adequate material models you cannot cover mud and snow. ⏩ Learn how the water management can be investigated with virtual methods and what new applications are now possible.
