How can you overcome resistance to change when introducing a corporate entrepreneurship initiative?
The best instrument for me to operationally steer a business is the OKR-methodology. While some articles sumarize the core of this method as “aligning and agreeing on outcomes that should be achieved”, the magic of this instrument for me goes far beyond: it’s based on the philosophy, that everybody in a company (employee or team) should have a clear area of accountability. For this product / unit / process the assigned person / team is “the CEO”. Philosophy of full-accountability - that has to be given as well as taken (!) - fosters high motivation and unleashes the full potential of employees and teams - and thus ensures maximal outcomes.

How can you overcome resistance to change when introducing a corporate entrepreneurship initiative?
The buy-in of the majority of employees is the key driver for any successful change or transformation process. Therefore, it is key to involve employees from all functions / business units as well as hierarchy levels in any transformation project. One highly effective way to do this is to organize “sounding teams” (cross-functionally and cross-hierarchically staffed) that consult on certain artefacts / milestones / outcomes. That way you a.) get a quite representative company opinion, b.) ensure a buy-in of key players quite early and c.) motivate these to be advocates for the change / transformation. How can you overcome resistance to change when introducing a corporate entrepreneurship initiative?
In today’s VUCA world the most important “company steering instrument” is a strong and clearly & continuously communicated purpose. A great purpose on the one hand side gives guidance and orientation, so that everyone in the company can align their actions towards it. On the other hand side it is a source of personal energy and motivation for the employees, as it explains why it is important to achieve the company mission.
