    Standing next to a running test chamber can be quite loud. 🔊 Climatic chambers, with their valve-switching, compressor noise and fans, often exceed 𝟳𝟬 𝗱𝗕 in some labs. With CO2 cooling, it's like a vacation for your ears! 🏖️ #CO2 cooling changes the noise level and frequency pattern change. Since most components are relatively small, insulation effectively reduces the sound pressure. At weisstechnik, we've optimized the design and reduced the noise level of our ClimeEvent to 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝟱𝟱 𝗱𝗕. Interestingly, the main noise source is no longer the compressor but the fan of the gas cooler.     Looking for a customized solution? You're in the right place! Introducing our latest custom modification to the TempEvent, tailored for temperature testing of energy storage systems using lithium-ion technology. The challenge 🔍 Our customer required a larger test chamber volume without increasing the footprint, along with enhanced safety features for testing energy storage systems. Our solution 🛠️ We increased the test chamber height by 200 mm, which required adjustments such as a higher door and elevated panels in the supply section. This modification boosted the test chamber volume by approximately 200 liters. Furthermore, we integrated safety equipment suitable for testing energy storage systems up to Hazard Level 5, including a gas measurement plate, nitrogen purge system, pressure relief valve, particle filter and a door interlock. 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Factory calibration is a convenient option, as it can be performed by any calibration laboratory without the need for accreditation or certification. At weisstechnik, we offer #WKD, our proprietary factory calibration method, which ensures accurate results using calibrated and meteorologically traceable measurement equipment. The calibration laboratory can customize the layout of the calibration certificate for greater flexibility. But it's important to note that, while factory calibration can provide accurate results, it may not be internationally acknowledged as a standardized procedure.     Did you know that General Motors (GM) played a crucial role in the rise of electric cars in the late 1990s? 🚗⚡ The period from 1996 to 2006 saw a renaissance of electric cars, driven by legal initiatives to reduce emissions. GM's arrival in electric mobility came with the EV1, a groundbreaking vehicle produced between 1996 and 1999. This two-seater electric car was not just an experiment, but a bold statement about the future of transportation. Equipped with a three-phase electric motor powered by 26 lead-acid modules, the first EV1 had a range of 90-120 km. Its successor had 26 nickel-metal hydride modules, which increased the range to 120-160 km. Both versions featured innovative features, such as regenerative braking, aluminum chassis and an impressive drag coefficient of 0.195. However, despite its technical advances and initial success, the EV1 struggled with several problems. It ultimately failed because of high production costs, limited range due to additional features such as headlights and air conditioning, and overheating batteries. GM's decision to discontinue the EV1, despite public outcry and celebrity support, remains a controversial topic to this day. But what does this have to do with weisstechnik?
