📢 📢 Important Update: Changes in German Toll Regulations Starting July 1st, 2024 We're approaching significant updates in the German toll domain that will impact many businesses and drivers on the road. Here's what you need to know: 🚚 Toll Expansion: From July 1st, 2024, all vehicles with a technically permissible maximum laden mass (GVW) of more than 3.5 tons will be subject to tolls in Germany. 🚚 Craftsmen's Exemption: Introducing the "Handwerkerregelung" (HWA). Certain journeys by vehicles with a GVW of less than 7.5 tons will be exempt from the toll if they qualify as craftsmen's journeys. Recommendations from the German Toll Charger BALM: 🔴 Predominant craftsman journeys: The German toll service (DEbag) should not be booked for vehicles, which are predominantly used by craftsmen, or if they only drive in Germany anyway. 🔴 Occasional journeys as craftsmen: If a driver and his vehicle normally have to pay tolls in Germany but want to use the HWA sometimes, it's suggested to deactivate the German toll service (DEbag) before a craftsman's trip. It is important to note that the German toll service must be reactivated before the next journey. An alternative procedure is to set the weight of <=3.5 t on the OBU for the affected journey. It is recommended that this setting is made again before each journey!          ⚠ Note: It is strongly recommended that the customer registers as a craftsman beforehand and uploads appropriate proof in German to minimize enforcement checks. This can be done at the National Service Provider.
