Your data, your platform

Info

Your data, your platform! The Stackable Data Platform was designed with openness and flexibility in mind. It provides you with a curated selection of the best open source data apps like Apache Kafka®, Apache Druid, Trino and Apache Spark™. All data apps work together seamlessly, and can be added or removed in no time. Based on Kubernetes, it runs everywhere – on-prem or in the cloud. Use it to create unique and enterprise-class data architectures. For example, it supports modern Data Warehouses, Data Lakehouses, Event Streaming, Machine Learning or Data Meshes. Stackable was founded in 2020 from the community ethos and therefore makes its platform available as an open source product with freely accessible source code with a commercial service and support offering. Only software with non-restrictive, open source licensing is included in Stackable Data Platform meaning you’re free to use it however you want at any scale. We are convinced that the future of software development is open source. With Stackable, we want to go down this path and are looking for bright minds, tinkerers and developers who will accompany us on this path as employees or contributors. Whether it’s a pull request, issue or Github comment – get in touch with us and become part ! The Stackable Data Platform - your modular open source data platform

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬: 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐆𝐢𝐭𝐇𝐮𝐛 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝟑𝐃 🤗 At Stackable, we’ve been on an incredible journey of growth and innovation over the past four years. For our latest on-prem, team members have captured this journey through a unique and visual representation – 3D prints of our developers’ commit histories from 2020 to 2023. Check out our on-prem post here: https://lnkd.in/dkr5yjhM In software development, a commit history records every change made to the codebase, reflecting the ongoing contributions of our team. Each 3D print represents a year of dedicated work, innovation, and collaboration by each team member: In 2020, only our two founders Lars and Sönke were contributing. In 2021 we grew to six team members, in 2022 we added two more, and in 2023 we were a team of eleven. Today we are a team of 15 and couldn't be happier with our progress 🥳. The commit histories as 3D prints symbolize not just code changes, but our collective progress and accomplishments. Seeing the prints grow each year is a proud reminder of how far we've come. And with 2024 still unfolding, we’re excited to see what new heights we’ll reach. By the way: the commits also include other open source projects we've worked on – not just changes to our Stackable Codebase. Thank you Sebastian for gifting us these amazing prints and showing us how far we’ve come. And thank you to each and everyone of our team for your hard work and support! 🩷 #StackableDataPlatform #yourdatayourplatform #team

🎉 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝, 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞! As a remote-only company, the social aspect of work can sometimes feel different from what you get in a traditional office. That's why at Stackable, we make it a priority to get together in person every three to four months. We use this time to connect with each other and as a team, but also for tackling challenges together. This time, we planned our upcoming Stackable Data Platform release, strategized an AI initiative, and shortened our container build times by a huge margin 💪 But what's more important than work is socializing. That's why we went to the RetroGames e.V. museum in Karlsruhe yesterday and had a blast playing retro arcade games! We played pinball, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, and many more all evening. 🕹️👾 Are you feeling inspired by our Stackable spirit? Guess what! We’re expanding. We're on the lookout for a talented B2B Sales Manager (all genders) to join our dynamic team. If you thrive in a remote, open-source startup environment and are ready to make an impact, check out the role here: https://lnkd.in/d2YFtpm9 We're also looking for ideas for our next Stackable on-prem week! We’d love to hear from you! #yourdatayourplatform #culture #team

Lars' 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 This week our CTO Lars had an incredible time at Berlin Buzzwords! This event wasn’t only a blast from the past but also a window into the future of data technologies. ✨ 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭: The talk of Jannik Heyl from evoila and Lars about “Lessons learned writing 10+ Kubernetes Operators” was an absolute standout moment: Held at the top of the building with a great view over the conference venue, Kulturbrauerei, an old brewery converted into an event location. The room was packed, and the engagement from the audience was fantastic. Despite being the only talk with “Kubernetes” in the title, the interest was overwhelming 🤩 If you want to watch the talk but couldn’t make it to Berlin Buzzwords, don't worry: it's already live on YouTube 👉 https://lnkd.in/dggNPucX 🤖 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬: AI was a dominant theme, of course, but what stood out even more at the convention were the core technologies enabling AI. From streaming to search to databases, it was all about the fundamentals that underpin modern data infrastructure. It was refreshing to see these technologies still in the spotlight. 👥 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲: Lars also had the pleasure of catching up with friends and colleagues who attended the first Berlin Buzzwords back in 2010! The community vibe at #BerlinBuzzwords is still the same like in 2010 – kudos to the organizers to keeping that spirit alive amidst the corporate sponsors 👏 We always love being at Berlin Buzzwords and can’t wait for next year! Have you been to Berlin Buzzwords this year? What core technology do you think is most critical for enabling AI? We’re interested in your thoughts, so leave a comment below ⬇️ #StackableDataPlatform #OpenSource #yourdatayourplatform

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 World of Data by b.telligent: 𝐀 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🙌 We had an incredible time at the #WoD24 🤩 Our joint booth with IONOS in the partner exhibition was a hub of engaging conversations, where we showcased the powerful capabilities of our Stackable Data Platform. In the afternoon, we attended an inspiring presentation by MARTIN GmbH für Umwelt- und Energietechnik, demonstrating how the Stackable Data Platform is being utilized with operating data for their sustainable waste incineration solutions. The evening was capped off with the first "Stackable Community Meetup," where we enjoyed great discussions and networking with attendees from the event 🍻 While we feared that the event might not happen due to heavy rain at the beginning of the week, we were thrilled everything worked out in the end. Still, our hearts are with all who suffered from the heavy rain and floods the weekend before. A big thank you to all the participants, partners, and guests who made the World of Data 2024 so memorable. We’re excited about the future and look forward to more opportunities to connect and innovate together 😊 #StackableDataPlatform #WorldOfData #yourdatayourplatform Daniel Benad Simon Hämmerle Oliver Hessel Sönke Liebau Stefan Igel

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐑𝐀 The Cyber Resiliance Act (CRA) is of critical importance for literally everyone and the amazing #CommunityOverCode event by The Apache Software Foundation in Bratislava demonstrated this once again. Our CPO Sönke was impressed to see the dedication and hard work of the #OpenSource communities at the event to make the CRA a reality-ready initiative 👏 Most of our collaboration at the #ASF happens virtually via mailing lists, so this event was an amazing opportunity to form new connections, while also catching up on the latest developments within the foundation, board activities, and project progress that might otherwise be missed. One of the standout moments for us was discovering Gravitino, a new player and Apache project in the metadata market. We’ll definitely be exchanging more information with them and are already excited to explore possible collaborations in the future 👍🏻 ➡️ This June is packed with events and we are already looking forward to Cloudland and StackIt! Will we see you there? #StackableDataPlatform #CRA #yourdatayourplatform

The 14th Business Analytics Days are over and we had a blast presenting our project DATEN:RAUM:FREIBURG at the event! Our COO Stefan Igel showcased the #SmartCity project together with Adrian Falkowski from Stadt Freiburg. Together they shared valuable insights into the project and how data platforms like the #StackableDataPlatform can be easily used in the public sector, especially in the context of smart cities and regions. Thanks to Hochschule Offenburg, Uwe Haneke and Tobias Hagenau for the great organization and all the other speakers for sharing their valuable knowledge! We are already looking forward to the 15th Business Analytics Days 😁 You can check out our presentation (in German) here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dTcQe_KW #yourdatayourplatform #OpenSource
