Pro-Kopf-Investitionen: 2023 noch kein Durchbruch bei Finanzierung der Schienen Infrastruktur - Zukunftsthemen wie die Digitalisierung umso relevanter 📢 Deutschland hat der Bund 2023 nur geringfügig mehr in seine Schienen-#Infrastruktur investiert als noch im Vorjahr. Die Allianz pro Schiene e.V. kritisiert, das leichte Plus habe nicht ausgereicht, die stark gestiegenen Baukosten auszugleichen. Das gemeinnützige Verkehrsbündnis fordert neben höheren Investitionen eine langfristige Finanzierungssicherheit und Planbarkeit für sanierungsbedürftige #Gleise, #Weichen und #Signalanlagen sowie für den Neu- und Ausbau auf der #Schiene. Jährliche Zitterpartien um den Bundeshaushalt seien Gift für den überfälligen #Kapazitätsausbau auf der Schiene in den kommenden Jahren und Jahrzehnten. „Das Jahr 2023 hat nur eine leichte Aufwärtsbewegung bei den Schienen-Investitionen gebracht, aber noch nicht den lange erwarteten Durchbruch für die Finanzierung der Schienen-Infrastruktur“, sagte Andreas Geißler, Leiter Verkehrspolitik der Allianz pro Schiene. Ab dem laufenden Haushaltsjahr 2024 sei Besserung in Sicht, betonen Allianz pro Schiene e.V. und SCI Verkehr GmbH. Andreas Geißler: „Es wurde bereits jetzt das dritte Jahr in Folge etwas mehr in die Schiene als in die Straße investiert, was wir ausdrücklich begrüßen. Und ab dem laufenden Jahr 2024 wird die Ankündigung aus dem Koalitionsvertrag eingelöst, erheblich mehr in die Schiene als in die Straße zu investieren." Dass Deutschland ab dem laufenden Haushaltsjahr umsteuere, sei gerade auch für Zukunftsthemen wie die #Digitalisierung der #Schiene wichtig, ergänzte Maria Leenen, Geschäftsführerin von #SCI Verkehr: „Die Entwicklung unserer Pro-Kopf-Zahlen zeigt, dass andere Länder schon deutlich früher damit begonnen haben, die Schienen- Investitionen hochzufahren und davon bereits heute profitieren. Es ist aber auch völlig klar, dass sich der über Jahrzehnte aufgebaute Investitionsstau hierzulande nicht von heute auf morgen auflösen lässt. Die spürbar höheren Schienen-Investitionen in Deutschland ab dem laufenden Jahr verbessern nun aber auch die Aussichten auf einen konsequenten und systematischen Ausbau des digitalen europäischen Zugsicherungssystems #ETCS. SCI Verkehr beruft zum 30-jährigen Firmenjubiläum Alexander Borchers neben Maria Leenen in die Geschäftsführung 📢 Gefeiert wurde mit Mitarbeitenden und ehemaligen Kolleg:innen in der Bullerei in Hamburg. Aber es wurde nicht nur rückgeblickt auf erfolgreiche drei Jahrzehnte, sondern auch die Weichen für die Zukunft gestellt. „Das System #Schiene befindet sich in einem massiven Umbruch, nichts wird bleiben, wie es ist“ resümierte Maria Leenen am Abend und ergänzte „die Digitalisierung wird alles verändern und die SCI Verkehr GmbH will ihren Beitrag für die Transformation der Branche leisten.“ Dazu verstärkt die ausgewiesene Bahninsiderin mit Alexander Borchers die Leitung des Unternehmens und berufte ihn zum weiteren Geschäftsführer bei #SCI Verkehr. Dipl.-Ing. Alexander Borchers ist seit seinem Studium der Raumplanung im #Bahnsektor aktiv - zunächst beim Aufgabenträger in NRW und seit 12 Jahren bei SCI Verkehr. Als Branchenexperte hat er in dieser Zeit zahlreiche namhafte Kunden im öffentlichen und privaten Sektor begleitet. „Mein Fokus wird darauf liegen, künftige Anforderungen an die Branche frühzeitig aufzugreifen und daraus innovative Lösungen für unsere Kund:innen und das Unternehmen zu gestalten“ so Borchers. Gemeinsam werde man in den kommenden Jahren die Weichen für einen Generationswechsel in der Geschäftsleitung stellen. Operators appreciate conventional diesel locomotives not only for their durability and reliability, but first and foremost for something that remains essential even in 2023: they are necessary for the rail transport system, especially in regions with numerous non-electrified secondary lines and shunting yards. Alternative-drive locomotives are increasingly available in the first country markets, yet they remain almost unaffordable for the vast majority of railway operators (which are under tremendous cost pressures in the rail freight transport sector) and frequently entail additional challenges. While there is a desire amongst players to effect the transformation, economic and operational concerns are frequently causing individual operators to hold back. Even so, SCI Verkehr GmbH believes that Europe, too, will experience strong growth in the medium term in what is still a small market for new locomotives able to operate independently of overhead lines. Asia’s large Chinese and Indian markets are taking a different path. Extensive investments in electrifying rail lines are making it possible to move away from diesel traction in the new vehicle market while simultaneously ensuring that the demand for alternative-drive locomotives remains limited. European countries have been reluctant to go this route on account of difficulties with planning law and high investment costs.
