I had the honor of holding a short keynote and participating in a panel discussion led by Kevin Knitterscheidt from Handelsblatt with Markus R. Achtert from Volkswagen Group and Andreas Schick from Schaeffler. During the "Handelsblatt Summit AI X Green Transition at the GREENTECH FESTIVAL", we discussed how industry leaders like Schaeffler and Volkswagen use our application ( RIZM (formerly Kerith) ) and other applications to achieve real-world environmental impact. Here are my key insights: 💡 Digital energy systems are used to avoid Infrastructure-malinvestments: Markus and his colleagues use our software to avoid malinvestments in infrastructure and false dimensioning. By creating a digital energy system (digital twin of the energy system), they can apply algorithms to identify the optimal component choice and sizing. This allows Volkswagen to save significantly on energy budgets compared to traditional planning, for example, by downsizing components. 💡 Digital energy systems can lead to operational savings without investment: For the first time, Schaeffler is able to utilize data collected across all three areas (procurement, infrastructure, and production) and thereby identify and systematically leverage synergies in energy operations. This way, they can benefit from volatility in the electricity market. Thanks to everyone who made this event possible! It was inspiring and motivating. What were your key takeaways from the Greentech Festival?

We support leading industrial companies in their transition to a climate-neutral economy. Yesterday, we showcased how industrials can ensure international competitiveness while pursuing ambitious climate goals. Together with Kevin Knitterscheidt (Handelsblatt), Markus Achtert (Volkswagen), and Andreas Schick (Schaeffler), Lucas Elias Kuepper (RIZM) discussed obstacles and how to overcome them. 🗒 Core takeaways:  👉 Finally, with solutions like RIZM, all technologies are available to plan and realize the cost-optimal integration of renewable energy into production, site infrastructure, and procurement. 👉 Energy-intensive companies require cost-competitive energy prices and planning security. Companies optimize their decision-making and energy supply but act in between political frameworks. Thus, we need close dialogue between industry and policymakers to ensure consistent and reliable frameworks. We thank all participants and especially Andreas Schick for the fruitful discussion. *** ChemCologne Kooperationstag 2024: Gemeinsam für eine innovative Zukunft der Chemiebranche *** Gestern fand der ChemCologne Kooperationstag im DIGITALHUB.DE Bonn unter dem Motto „Rethinking Chemistry – Towards an Innovative Future“ statt. ChemCologne hatte gemeinsam mit der Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn sowie den Partnern chemstars.nrw und dem JungChemikerForum Bonn zu dem Event eingeladen. Über 100 Teilnehmende aus #Wissenschaft, #Chemieindustrie und #Startup-Ökosystem folgten der Einladung. Nach einem Begrüßungstalk folgte mit der Startup Pitch Session das Herzstück der Veranstaltung. Sechs Teams buhlten um die Gunst des Publikums. Kerith, RheinSharing, blue activity, ContainerGrid, Hydrogenea und Sweethoven Biotech zeigten, wie sie mit ihren Ideen die Zukunft der Chemieindustrie mitgestalten wollen. Kerith konnte am Ende das Publikumsvoting knapp gewinnen. Joshua Kuepper Küpper, Gründer und CBO, nahm den Siegerpokal freudestrahlend entgegen. Im Anschluss an die Pause gab es zwei Panels - eins zum Thema "Grownups" und eins zum Thema "Karrieremöglichkeiten für den akademischen Nachwuchs". „Wir haben spannende Pitches gesehen und lebhafte Paneldiskussionen geführt. Der abschließende Austausch ist besonders wichtig für dieses Event. Hier finden die Unternehmen der Chemieindustrie Inspirationen für die Zukunft“, befand ChemCologne-Vorsitzender Christoph Kappenhagen.

Thanks to the team from Digital Hub münsterLAND for organizing an amazing Demo Day. It was an enriching experience filled with insightful conversations and talks. I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals and industry experts. The discussions I had were not only inspiring but also kicked-off concrete ideas to support the energy side of factory planning and energy transformation of producing companies in the region.
