#REDcert is once again a Gold Partner of the 13th Conference of the Polish Chamber of Biofuels' "#Transport #Biofuels" (KIB 2024). The conference will take place on the 25th and 26th of September 2024 in Ostrada and is one of the most important industry meetings of the biofuels sector in Poland. The main topics of the conference are the implementation of RED II, RED II targets, ETS2 in transport, and agricultural emissions in the context of reduction targets for biofuels. From June 11th to 13th, 2024, the #Renewable #Materials #Conference in Siegburg, Germany, became a focus of more than 440 participants from 26 countries, including chemical and material companies, government representatives, and the European Commission. As a silver sponsor, we had the opportunity to showcase our REDcert² scheme, specifically tailored for the chemical industry. The conference's agenda was packed with 80 presentations, ten workshops, and an exhibition that fostered extensive networking opportunities and discussions. Our presence at the conference provided a prime platform to demonstrate the potential of the REDcert² scheme for teh chemical industry. By engaging with industry professionals, we were able to highlight how the mass balance approach under REDcert² ensures that renewable and recycled materials are verifiably integrated into production processes. This approach not only helps in reducing the reliance on fossil resources but also supports the industry's transition towards a more sustainable and circular economy. Keynote speakers at the conference emphasized the urgency of transitioning to sustainable and renewable materials, focusing on the importance of tackling Scope 3 emissions and the need for a robust life cycle assessment (LCA) framework. The industry is on the cusp of significant transformation, with a unified commitment to bio- and CO₂-based solutions, alongside recycling initiatives, to maintain carbon within the cycle and eliminate fossil carbon usage. Die REDcert² Systemdokumente, Checklisten und Selbsterklärungen für den Lebens- und Futtermittelbereich wurden auf Basis der FSA 3.0 Kriterien überarbeitet und stehen jetzt auf der REDcert Homepage zum Download bereit (Link im Kommentar). Die REDcert² Systemvorgaben zum landwirtschaftlichen Anbau sowie zu den sozialen Mindeststandards wurden bei der Überarbeitung an die aktuellen Anforderungen der Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) angeglichen. Das REDcert² System hat gemäß dem FSA 3.0-Benchmark den SAI-Goldstatus für den europäischen Raum erlangt. Des Weiteren wurde das REDcert² System um das freiwillige Erweiterungsmodul „Responsible Farming“ ergänzt, welches auf alle Kulturarten anwendbar ist. Es stellt zusätzliche Anforderungen an die soziale Verantwortung eines Betriebes und enthält überwiegend Kriterien der European Feed Manufacturers‘ Federation (FEFAC). Zudem bietet es die Möglichkeit, eine Kompatibilität mit dem Zusatzmodul „QS Sojaplus“ auszuweisen. Die vorläufige Anerkennung dieses REDcert² Erweiterungsmoduls wurde am 2. Mai 2024 auf der Homepage der QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH veröffentlicht.
