“Open Banking is like Web 1.0 and Open Finance will be like the current internet: a completely new level of user experience where the end user can quickly, easily, and efficiently interact with retailers, banks, authorities, advisors, and all kinds of other business areas.”  ~ Matt Colebourne, CEO, Qwist Curious about how we bridge banks and consumers? Our CEO, Matt Colebourne, discussed this recently with Der Bank Blog, and here’s a sneak peek on what was discussed: 1️⃣ How Open Finance integrates investments, savings, loans, and insurance for a holistic financial view.  2️⃣ Whether the EU Commission’s focus on Open Finance drives collaboration for innovation and data-driven capabilities.  3️⃣ Whether comprehensive insights empower smarter decisions and personalised services, benefiting consumers. 4️⃣ The potential business opportunities to be gained from detailed financial data in terms of risk management and competitive solutions.  5️⃣ How PSD3, FIDA, and PSR regulations provide support to ensure stable growth in Open Finance. The potential of Open Finance is limitless. Matt predicts a massive surge in Open Finance-based solutions in the next few years. You better believe this: In 2023, over 30% of buyers would have preferred to purchase a new car entirely online While finding cars online is common, financing them online is still catching up. A new study, exclusively previewed by AUTOHAUS, highlights the need for transparency, trust, and service in online financing. More than half of the surveyed customers are open to buying their next vehicle online. Genpact's findings align with this, showing increasing acceptance. However, the 2023 DAT report (DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand) notes that 53.7% still prefer local dealers or banks for car financing. Another challenge? Customers struggle with switching between online and offline processes. Imagine if the entire process - from research to financing - could happen seamlessly online. Integrated financing options without the need to switch platforms? Now that’s the future of car buying…. Or is it actually the present? 😉 React if you… 💡 would want an all online purchase process for your next car - financing included. ❤️ would still prefer to go to your local car dealership. #Qwist #financing #lending #openfinance

🌟 Qwist Chronicles: Need-to-Know Banking 🌟 Next up: everything on stocks, brought to you by Michele. Stocks, or shares, are financial instruments traded on stock exchanges and managed in secured accounts by shareholders. Each stock represents ownership of a part of a public company listed in the stock exchange. Successful investors spend time analysing stock prices or use expert advice. Investors may transfer their stock portfolio to another bank for several reasons: 👉Fee savings 👉Lower investment fund surcharges 👉Better product offers 👉Lack of digital custody options for account management (e.g. via online banking or an app) In Germany, transferring a custody account is free due to court rulings prohibiting banks from charging separate fees for this service. Digital services now enable account transfers in just 10 minutes. 💡Fun fact: The first share dates back to 1288 in a Swedish copper mine. Then, the Dutch East India Company issued the first tradable stocks in 1602, leading to the Amsterdam Stock Exchange in 1612. So, if you participate in stocks and shares, remember you're part of a centuries-old tradition! 🇳🇱📈 👀 Stay tuned for the next post! #Qwist #QwistChronicles #Stocks #Stockexchange #Banking

Would you buy your next car online? What wasn’t even imaginable a few years back has now become reality. The customer journey no longer simply takes car enthusiasts to the local car dealership.  💡 In fact, the majority of consumers prefer to complete all phases of the interaction online. According to a study by Genpact and horyzn.io, 64% of consumers prefer to use digital channels during the purchase and post-purchase phase. And even more interesting: More than a third of customers looking for cars start their research by looking for the right financing option before deciding on a car. 👉 What this means for car dealerships? 1️⃣ Clean up your online presence, improve your user experience and the integration of necessary digital tools. 2️⃣ There is a need for transparent and competitive financing options, why not integrate those directly into your shop? Have the customers start their research on your website! How is your online presence? Do you think this also applies to E-Commerce platforms selling high-value goods? You can find the whole study in the link mentioned in the comment. #Qwist #financing #lending #openfinance

🌎🎶 “Around the world, around the world…” Qwist is everywhere! 🌎🎶 This post is dedicated to our colleague Santiago, Senior Software Engineer, part of the finX team. Over his three years at Qwist, Santiago has shown exceptional innovation and collaboration in improving categorisation and solving problems. He excels at his work while fully remote, maintaining strong team relationships. In these pictures, Santiago stands in a traditional wine cellar in his hometown Jerez de la Frontera, a city in Cadiz, Spain, the source of sherry wines, just 500 metres from where he works. To him, this embodies the essence of remote work: staying connected to our roots while breaking barriers. Open Banking jolted the financial services industry. Now Open Finance threatens to overturn it. How? New regulations, such as FIDA and PSD3 in Europe, will elevate data into a tradeable currency. And the value that data trades will generate will be enormous. Consumers, banks, insurers, finance houses, tech companies – they all stand to benefit. In banking alone, global open data revenues could touch US$124 billion by 2031. We’re starting to build an open data economy, says Nicola Breyer, MD at German fintech Qwist. And the new economy will be driven by a host of new financial products and services. Our Digital Reinvention Community hosted another one of its insightful online sessions, this time co-organized by EY. Enhanced customer experience and broader product and service offerings were the key benefits identified by business leaders who participated in the event (see poll results below). And the biggest obstacles? Data security and technological integration. Open Finance regulations are set to take hold in Europe next year. They’ll require all financial institutions, not just banks, to meet standards to facilitate the exchange of customer data. Are financial services companies in Europe ready for these changes? Not many, says Christopher Schmitz, Partner (Strategy and Transactions) at EY. Responses from banks, insurers and asset managers range from excitement to shock. Schmitz says incumbents in the financial services industry must comply with the new Open Finance regulations. But they can choose to take a defensive stance – and protect their customer base. Or, adopt an offensive approach – and join with partners to expand their customer base. Either way, complying with Open Finance requirements will be expensive. As much as €80 million per firm over the next three years. And the stakes very high… A huge thanks to all our guests today for all the knowledge and opinions shared!
