CSRD, LkSG, GRI, SASB, CDP, NFRD, SBTi – navigating the terrain of sustainability often feels like traversing a dense jungle of abbreviations, even though one has recently gained prominence: CSRD.   The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is an EU initiative to enhance corporate transparency and accountability in sustainability matters. Companies subject to CSRD must report their sustainability performance, impacts, risks, and opportunities in detail and ensure the reports are audit-proof starting from the fiscal year 2024. This directive poses challenges, such as audit-proof reporting, data availability, cross-functional data collection, and a lack of harmonization with internal guidelines and other ESG initiatives. Porsche Consulting has identified several opportunities arising from CSRD for companies:   🍃 Improved stakeholder engagement CSRD compliance encourages companies to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including customers, employees, communities, or NGOs. This engagement fosters trust and loyalty, allowing for long-term partnerships and innovative impulses.   🍃 Innovation and differentiation Although CSRD is basically only a disclosure obligation, it encourages companies to innovate and develop new products, services, and business models that address sustainability challenges. Companies that proactively address these issues through CSRD reporting can pre-emptively mitigate risks associated with changing regulations, consumer preferences, and environmental impacts.    🍃 Access to capital and investment opportunities Investors are increasingly integrating environmental, social, and governance factors into their investment decisions. By demonstrating strong sustainability performance through CSRD reporting, companies can attract investment capital and access a broader range of financing options.   🍃 Improved ESG data management The CSRD can give companies the opportunity to optimize the management of ESG data, –which has often been neglected in recent years –, helping them to align financial data and enable strategic steering. ➡ Let us know whether you see the CSRD more as a burden or an opportunity. #CSRD #Sustainability #Regulations #SustainabilityReporting

By 2030, traditional parcel delivery will be a less frequent sight in cities due to regulatory constraints and the quest for sustainable and efficient delivery solutions. 🚚🔋   With around 5.4 billion parcels expected to be delivered in Germany by 2030 and ever rising city regulations, a significant 30% gap between delivery capacity and the projected parcel demand in Germany is expected. According to Robert Stolt, Associate Partner at Porsche Consulting, rethinking the last mile has never been more urgent since the gap cannot be closed with parcel stations, and cargo bikes alone are also unable to meet the demand. To close this gap, shippers, cities, logistics service providers and recipients must jointly develop innovative approaches to increase delivery capacities, optimize existing structures and reduce avoidable parcel volumes.   ➡ Learn more about emerging future delivery solutions in the latest Porsche Consulting Strategy Paper “Last Mile Delivery 2030: https://lnkd.in/eAYwjSY2   #Logistics #UrbanLogistics #LastMile #Ecommerce #CustomerServices #FutureOfDelivery

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important for the pharmaceutical industry, especially in the wake of rising regulatory requirements. But how can it be firmly anchored in corporate culture and made tangible throughout an entire company? 🍃💊 For the global pharmaceutical corporation Boehringer Ingelheim, environmental sustainability is part of its core business and is practiced across all departments and by all of its 53,000 employees: “As a pharmaceutical research company, we’re especially interested in environmental protection and sustainable action because there’s a direct connection between our core business and climate protection,” notes Lars Murawski, Vice President for Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) at Boehringer Ingelheim. “You can only improve the health of people and animals if you have a healthy environment.” One major pillar is the global “More Green” program, which is Boehringer Ingelheim’s network for ecological sustainability. It encompasses a range of activities designed to protect the planet, its resources, and forms of life. Special priorities are placed on achieving carbon neutrality for company processes by the year 2030, reducing supply chain emissions, improving circular economy systems, and reducing water use footprints. Murawski and his more than 350-strong EHS team rely on the power of the entire workforce to generate new sustainability innovations: New ideas are not just promoted from top down, but also from bottom up. In this way, employees become idea generators and drivers of new developments. Porsche AG redefines customer satisfaction by measuring not just satisfaction, but excitement! ✨   By implementing innovative metrics, Porsche links customer feedback to specific contexts, revealing unique opportunities for improvement. This approach exceeds traditional methods like the net promoter score (NPS), examining 13 key points along the customer journey. With its Customer Excitement Score, developed in collaboration with Porsche Consulting, Porsche captures the true emotional bonds between drivers and their vehicles, ensuring that each interaction — from fueling to high-speed laps — is memorable and exciting.   “We worked in close collaboration with Porsche Consulting to develop the Customer Excitement Score, protected it under trademark law and appreciably increased levels of customer satisfaction,” states Martin Einhorn, Director Customer Insights, at Porsche. The project at a glance:   🎯 Challenge Porsche customers have high expectations for their cars and the entire brand experience. Thus far, customer satisfaction metrics have offered little scope for improvement or guidance on ways to improve.   🧩 Implementation The company has been working with Porsche Consulting to develop a new measurement concept in order to gain full transparency on driver feedback in various situations.   🚀 Result The customer excitement score is a more precise, emotion-based, action-based measurement than previous metrics, combining input with data from the relevant customer journey. Evaluation is supported by AI. Biopharmaceuticals bring new hope for patients: why an improved decision-making process in R&D creates more value for patients. 💉 A new age has dawned in the pharmaceutical sector. A large number of biological medical products are being developed to market readiness. Biopharmaceuticals are noted for their targeted ability to treat or eliminate what are often rare conditions. Their strength lies in a more personalized approach. Each patient receives treatment that is tailored precisely to his or her condition. Estimates by Porsche Consulting suggest that the market for biopharmaceuticals will nearly double by 2030. But there are enormous hurdles on the road to success in the biopharmaceutical business. Manufacturing processes are more complex than those for traditional chemical agents. And the new treatments are already facing a series of setbacks in their development. Research-based pharmaceutical companies must undergo a strict, complex approval process that lasts several years in order to put a newly developed drug on the market. Porsche Consulting analyzed the biopharmaceutical industry and the results show that of 1,000 molecules considered promising candidates for new medications, only half of them survive the first phase of clinical studies. Ultimately, only around 10 of the original 1,000 developments will make it through the approval process as therapies and become available to patients. This often takes a decade or more, and can devour billions of euros. “For these innovations to benefit everyone, their development processes need to be improved and their reimbursement models reassessed,” says Dr. Roman Hipp, Senior Partner und Industry Lead Life Sciences at Porsche Consulting. How can the processes become cheaper and faster? Find out more in the latest article in Porsche Consulting Magazine: https://lnkd.in/eEEcYfpU #Biopharma #Biopharmaceuticals #LifeScience #Treatment #Therapy #Health
