Five years ago, we transformed an old Shisha Bar into a beautiful and bright venue, designing and renovating everything from the ground up. Thus, Downtown by Openers was born. Located in Berlin-Wedding, right at the border of Mitte, our space is conveniently accessible via the U8 Voltastraße or Bernauer Straße stations. 🌟💒 With a smile and a teary eye, we have decided not to extend our current contract, as we moved our HQ to Kreuzberg last year and don't use the space often enough. 😊😢 We are looking to hand over our space to someone who will appreciate and make good use of the built-in amenities. In return, we expect a fair redemption fee (to be determined). Recap pt. 2! 🤗 We were thrilled to host the second edition of Spotify music summit, ALL MUSIC FRIDAY, on April 19th, just a day after the successful ALL EARS podcast summit. Overnight, the Wilhelm Hallen were transformed and ready to welcome 1,700 guests to a bright and vibrant setting the next morning. ☀️ Throughout the day, Germany’s various music industry players had the chance to watch engaging panel discussions, attend masterclasses, and network over a glass of Aperol Spritz (or two). Artists like Felix Jaehn, Reezy, 01099's Zachi, Nina Chuba and Ski Aggu shared insights on their musical journeys and the evolving landscape of music (and content) creation. Spotify’s own Michael Krause and Conny Zhang not only welcomed the crowd but also discussed the future of the music industry and Spotify’s role in shaping it, as well as the intersection of music and technology in their respective keynotes. Roy Bianco & Die Abbrunzati Boys’ unforgettable live concert closed the event, starting as a cozy sway and later turning into quite the wild „Schlager-Strudel“. Rewind and Reflect! 🎧✨ We’re thrilled to share the highlights from this year’s ALL EARS podcast festival in collaboration with Spotify! This year’s event was an absolute blast, attracting over 1800 enthusiastic attendees, featuring brilliant speakers, and supported by an incredible team of over 100 hardworking individuals behind the scenes. Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen! 🙌 Guests indulged in delicious food and drinks across three food courts set up in the Wilhelm Hallen. Our six stages were buzzing with energy from wonderful hosts like Salwa Houmsi and insightful speakers like Michael Barbaro, who took us behind the scenes of „The Daily“ podcast. Many more interesting sessions took place, with speakers like Ariana Baborie, Leonie Bartsch and Sahar Elhabashi, who spoke about topics like the „podcast patriarchy“, the state of true crime podcasts and the next chapter of podcasting.
