Our co-founder Dr. Feiyu Xu is one of Handelsblatt's People of the Year 2023! ⭐ With her move from SAP to her startup, she is demonstrating the potential of AI and Handelsblatt is therefore naming her "Umsteigerin des Jahres". The jury included the likes of Philipp Rösler, Janina Kugel and Sebastian Matthes. For the jury, Feiyu Xu represents the beginning of a new era for Germany. The development of AI models for industry is particularly important in Germany's traditional sectors such as mechanical engineering and the automotive industry. Feiyu also combines science, technology and entrepreneurship in a special way. A portrait of Feiyu Xu: https://lnkd.in/evgzigCs #AI #foundationmodels

Our Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer Dr. Feiyu Xu joined as a panelist at the SZ #Digitalgipfel 🚀 Together with philosopher Prof. Dr. Markus Gabriel, she shared her insights about the impact of Generative AI in industries and societies and the hype triggered by the ChatGPT released almost one year ago: "Generative AI must be tailored to industries and companies to achieve real business values - passionated about the innovation potential of #AI, Feiyu Xu left SAP by end of June and co-founded her own company. Based in Berlin, nyonic is working on enabling the intelligent transformation of industries and companies with large language models and foundation models. Nyonic will train and develop "industry/vertical language models" for companies", as Feiyu Xu said. 👩💻 Many applications such as knowledge discovery, question answering and report generation will help to increase the productivity of many employees and to improve the satisfaction rate of the customer services. ✨ #generativeai More: https://lnkd.in/dtsfzage

#Throwback Our co-founder & CTO Johannes Otterbach was as a speaker at the Sifted Summit 2023 in London. 🚀 On the topic of #deeptech, he discussed with Ana Maiques, CEO Neuroelectrics, and Andrea Traversone, Managing Partner NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), what the next steps for investors should be, moderated by Cristina Gallardo. 👀 AI is moving out of #deeptech into broad adoption. Investors are looking into vertical applications. 🔎 Due to the increasing commoditization of generalistic LLMs, investors are becoming more cautious with placing bets. Investors are instead on the lookout for more specialized models that can perform better in industry use cases. ⚙️ Europe has a great chance here due to it's strong industry and can be a champion for B2B applications. What are your experiences on the topic? Let us know in the comments. #sifted #investments #artificialintelligence #ai #deeptech #llm

Our CEO Europe Vanessa Cann was honored as Visionary Leader 2023 by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Handelsblatt! 🚀
Ex. Co-Founder of nyonic • Board Member • Forbes 30u30 • Capital 40u40 • LinkedIn Top-Voice on AI • Building the European AI Ecosystem
Using ChatGPT? Well, it's just the beginning! When I ventured into AI seven years ago, European companies were just beginning to explore its potential. A lot has changed since then! Many companies have launched their own AI projects and set up dedicated units. But while we've made significant progress in Europe, there's still a long way to go. The 'intelligent transformation' of companies takes time. That's why I'm dedicating a lot of my time to driving the European AI ecosystem forward! I am delighted that the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Handelsblatt have recognised my ongoing efforts with their Top 30 Decision Maker's Award! This award is not only a personal honour, but also a recognition of all the pioneers and innovators who have driven the European AI ecosystem forward. But progress must be faster! Too often in Europe, we focus on the barriers to change rather than the benefits. Especially when it comes to AI, inaction means falling behind the competition. In my view, these are the three most important points that every company should take to heart. Not tomorrow. Today. 🎯 Make AI a board-level priority In order to drive digital transformation holistically within the business, it needs resources and authority. Simply having an AI department that can run one or two pilots is not enough. AI needs to become a board-level priority. 💶 Commit to significant AI investment Investing in AI costs money and is often a leap into the unknown. But many projects will make your processes more effective and help you save money in the long term. 🔐 Develop a clear data strategy This may sound like a buzzword, but it's a step that most companies tend to skip. More structured data means more leverage for AI automation. Change takes time, but I'm very impatient. Let's be bolder and drive AI together! Thank you to the jury for this recognition, Sebastian Matthes, Michael Brigl, Judith Wiese, Tina Müller, Dirk Ramhorst, Dr. Christina Reuter, Birgitta Wolff. #VordenkerInnen2023 #award #innovation #leadership

Our co-founder Vanessa Cann was invited as a speaker at Bits & Pretzels in Munich last week! 🥨
Ex. Co-Founder of nyonic • Board Member • Forbes 30u30 • Capital 40u40 • LinkedIn Top-Voice on AI • Building the European AI Ecosystem
At Bits & Pretzels the two words #AI and #impact were certainly the most dropped. Many founders asked me the same question: “What is the one thing that will bring AI-products to the next level?” I believe that as we move forward into 2024, we will witness a pronounced shift towards more specialized AI models. Many industries have piloted Large Language Models over the recent months. Many of these projects have not survived the pilot phase and have not received the green light for a sustainable implementation. It has become clear that generalist LLMs are reaching limits when it comes to complex industry use cases. Specialized models are the solution to this. They embed much more industry knowledge, technical jargon, programs, scripts, and specifications in various formal languages, along with industry-specific conceptual and factual knowledge. These specialized models will provide much better results to domain-specific tasks. I like to use the following metaphor: General Models are like High-School graduates. They have absorbed much of the general knowledge out there. Specialized Models are like university graduates. They have the same general knowledge but are also trained in their respective fields. I am super excited about this. I believe that this shift will take our industry to the next level – and I cannot wait to see what we will be able to build with it. There are big challenges of our time that we need answers for. Specialized models might just be missing piece to the puzzle. With Dr. Andreas Liebl, Janette Wiget, Philipp Gerbert, Axel Täubert, Sara Ekinci, Lilian Breidenbach, Sebastian Oehlschläger, Mischa R., Tina Kluewer, Jessica Holzbach, Lubomila Jordanova, Dr. Léa Steinacker, Prof. Dr. Yasmin Weiß, Claudia Pohlink, Zarah Bruhn, Verena Pausder, Magdalena Oehl, Thomas Oehl, Dr. Verena Heeschen, Verena Alice Sturm, Guy Bino, Sandra Dax, Petra Vorsteher, André Loesekrug-Pietri⚡️, Vanessa Gstettenbauer, Christian Miele, Franziska Teubert
