Automated mobile robots that move in a swarm at up to 10 meters per second and place parcels precisely in the specified locations - this is not science fiction, these are the LoadRunners! Together with Fraunhofer IML, we want to bring these small vehicles to market! In the last weeks we have tested them with DPD Deutschland for their practical suitability. 📦 "This was a major step in the development as we now really have a dynamic real-time assignment of orders and subsequent planning of the route of the LoadRunners in operation. We will now evaluate the data and improve the technology," says Rudi Vanhoutte, project manager for the LoadRunner at KION Mobile Automation within CTO. Fast, agile and AI-controlled, the LoadRunners move through the logistics space - independently of each other, but still coordinate their transport routes among themselves. A treasure find at night! 🌌 Last week, five fellow cyclists went for a night ride along the coast of Xiamen. As they passed the university, they spotted a special something at the side of the road: It was a 351-03 Linde Material Handling diesel forklift truck from 2001. The forklift was equipped with Linde MH's hydrostatic transmission technology, which was the gold standard in the Chinese market at the time. Its industrial design was designed by Porsche. Even after the product was replaced in 2015, some customers still remembered it. Thanks to our five colleagues for this nice little story and opportunity to remember.

Last week, we were thrilled to welcome our trainees to their second Basecamp in Frankfurt, Germany, as part of their 18-month KION Management Trainee Program! 🚀 The Motto of the week was: Foster Your Own Development! 🎯 Our agenda was packed with exciting topics, insightful learnings, keynote speakers, hands-on training and a lot of networking opportunities. 💡 This included revising the individual growth plan they had already created in their first Basecamp and getting tips on how to cope with stress and how to give constructive criticism. It was a fantastic week of learning, growing, and connecting.
