What makes IDnow stand out among our peers of identity verification and digital signature providers? 🤔 Is it our wide range of products that serves over 900 customers from a range of industries worldwide? Yes, it is. But it’s also much more than that... It is in our trusted relationships with international police and counter fraud organizations, including INTERPOL, where we exchange knowledge and share best practices on fraud prevention. 🚨 It is in our research initiatives like the MAMMOTH project where our research and development team collaborate with academic institutions, associations and private companies to tackle the bias in AI facial verification. 🤳 It is also in our technical and regulatory projects, such as our ongoing consortium with the IOTA Foundation where we are co-creating a Web3-ready KYC and identity verification solution. IDnow is an active member of influential European standardization organizations ETSI and CEN, where we contribute to the new eIDAS2 standards for the EUDI Wallet and Qualified Trust Service Providers. 📲 Since January 2023, our Senior Architect, Sebastian Elfors has, alongside co-authors Peter Lee Altmann and Johannes Sedlmeir, been working on the ETSI Technical Report 119 476. The second iteration of the influential report, which explores the role of selective disclosure technologies for the EUDI Wallet, came out this month. According to Andrew Tobin, Wallet & eIDAS expert at cybersecurity giant Gen Digital and Head of the OpenWallet Foundation Safe Wallet team, the report is “the seminal reference document on the topic.” IDnow is also a member of international standardization organizations W3C, FIDO Alliance and International Air Transport Association (IATA), shaping the future of digital identities at a global scale.   We couldn’t be prouder of our exceptionally talented team of regulatory experts and researchers and developers. It is, among a myriad of other reasons, why IDnow continues to be a pioneer and leader in the identity verification market, in Europe and beyond. 🌍   💡 Learn more about the MAMMOTH project: https://lnkd.in/ekbRsS82    💡 Learn more about the Web3 Identification Solution: https://lnkd.in/eDZzCHyk 💡 Read the full ETSI Technical Report 119 476 here: https://lnkd.in/eFMXPGvN

KYC and signing in seconds ⏲ IDnow launches two new e-signature solutions to the market. 📝 #InstantSign empowers financial businesses to innovate friction-heavy and lengthy signing processes, such as loan contracts, by way of a reusable identity, while #eID eSign enables users to verify their identity and digitally sign contracts with the help of #NFC technology. Existing solutions traditionally either require a new identity verification before a Qualified Electronic Signature (#QES) can be issued or the identification needs to be handled by the financial institution. IDnow’s latest signing solution InstantSign removes these obligations, allowing users who have already performed Anti-Money-Laundering (#AML)-compliant identity verification at onboarding to digitally sign contracts at a qualified level, with no additional integrations required and in accordance with European eIDAS regulations. 🌍 “InstantSign has been proven to reduce drop-offs and accelerate contract completion. With physical signing processes sometimes taking days, our customers can now cut this to mere seconds with InstantSign, by foregoing the printing, signing and return process of a hard copy contract”, explains Vikas Seth, Chief Product Officer at IDnow. 🔗 Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/dT_xmrsA

The UK woke up to a Labour government on July 5, following 14 years of Conservative rule. 🇬🇧 What policies will change, and how the government will prioritize next steps is now up for debate. What is clear is that the Labour party will not be introducing digital ID cards, at least for now, much to the disappointment of Tony Blair. Last week, the former Labour Prime Minister reiterated the potential benefits of digital IDs, citing more effective border control as a prime example. This isn’t the first time that Blair has called for digital IDs; in fact, he introduced legislation when he was in office, but the proposal was scrapped when the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition came into power. Although there are currently no plans to launch a digital ID card system in the UK, the government has released the Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (#DIATF) – a set of rules and standards designed to establish trust in digital identity products. In our ‘Identity crisis: The future of digital IDs in the UK’ whitepaper, we explore how a historical hesitancy to adopt identity cards has informed the UK government’s unique approach to digital identities. Have a flick through a summary below. Link to full whitepaper in the comments.
