The first deliveries of unit-dose nasal spray are about to take off from our Italian production site and go to the US market. The FDA previously inspected our site close to Milan with no findings, so it can now supply all major regions worldwide. Our colleagues manufacture nasal spray bulk, fill single-dose nasal spray devices, assemble them, establish methods for aerosol testing, and package them. Our contract manufacturing organisation, Grünenthal PRO, is ready for a growing market trend. We need innovation! That's easy to say. But how do you get the right mindset for innovation in a company?   Sebastian Hoppe joined Grünenthal in 2022 in the Global IT department and was soon recommended for a Planning Lead role in the Commercial organisation. One day in February 1999, Guillermo Alemany’s phone unexpectedly started ringing -  a call that changed everything... For a quarter of a century, Guillermo has helped healthcare professionals improve the lives of pain patients and their families. He has always been motivated by a deep commitment to supporting the more than 25% of the population of his home country Spain, who are affected by pain conditions. “When a doctor calls to say a patient’s condition has improved thanks to our treatments, I get a feeling of joy that really inspires me,” he says. Today, we expanded our Quito plant with a new state-of-the-art facility! With more than €20 million invested, the new production facility is now fully qualified for pharmaceutical manufacturing. Starting in 2025, it will produce 200-300 million high-quality tablets annually for pain patients in 17 European countries. Our Quito site is one of the few in Latin America licensed to export to Europe and the only one in Ecuador with an EU Good Manufacturing Practice certificate, setting a high industry standard.
