Past events have never been my main focus. I’ve always been drawn towards what lies ahead. Yet, I believe that in our journey with GameDuell we’ve etched a small but significant mark in the annals of games history, bringing people together with games. We started with a humble website featuring flash games and grew into one of Europe’s largest games destinations. We’ve developed our fair share of social games on Facebook and now boast some of the most popular community card games on mobile and cross-platform, reaching millions of players. It fills us with immense pride to envision the luminous path that lies ahead for GameDuell, a venture that Boris Wasmuth, Michael Kalkowski and I brought to life two decades ago. Over a successful two-year transition period, we’ve seen encouraging progress, with our mobile business doubling against market trends. Now, we’re ready to pass the baton to Dirk Potratz as Managing Director and an exceptional leadership team. Dirk joined us as "team member number 8" in 2004, eager to merge his passion for games and finance. Two decades later, he is guiding our grown-up baby into a promising future, alongside our amazing GameDuell team and the new found friends of Mobile Premier League (MPL). We will continue to support them as investors and advisers. This moment also presents an opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this remarkable journey. First and foremost, we want to give a special shout-out to our incredible team members, who have not only been a pleasure to work with but have also taught us much of what we know about games today. We also want to thank our angel investors, VCs, and numerous business partners whom we have shared paths with over the years. As for me, I’m excited to continue supporting startups like Uplandme, Inc., Kayzen, the Leaders for Climate Action community and other climate initiatives as an angel investor and adviser, staying true to my personal mission of building systems that connect people for a better world.
