How can robots help you have great teeth? In this video, our colleagues Timo Schröder and Max Horn explain how dentures can be produced fully automated. Their spin-off FIDENTIS is using a customized 3D printing system with robot integration which is able to handle multiple materials (such as precious metals) in a single process - an idea which might just revolutionize the dental industry! #AM #AdditiveManufacturing #fraunhofer #fraunhofergesellschaft
No company, other than AMCM, wanted to build a 3D printing system with an integrated robot arm for the Fraunhofer IGCV and its spin-off FIDENTIS. AMCM accepted the challenge and adapted the AMCM M 290-1 1kW system to their needs. AMCM, as the customizing company of EOS, distinguishes between two different types of customizing, “Selected Customization” (tuning standard EOS systems to the customer's needs) or “Full Customization” (building a system from scratch for the customer). Today we give you some insight to what “Selected Customization” looks like. With the robot arm FIDENTIS can do multi-material applications as well as sensoring of the part and will thus revolutionize the dental prothesis market. Timo Schröder, CTO of FIDENTIS: “With AMCM we have a reliable partner supporting and further developing the system in the years to come. AMCM knows exactly which interfaces need to be used and how the robot needs to be integrated into the system to create an innovative and unique machine.” Just check the video 😉 Many thanks to our protagonists Timo Schröder, Max Horn, Sina Trik, Marius Hoyer and the others behind the scenes: Lukas Langer, Georg Schlick, Alexander Hofmann, Sven Schmitt #breakthroughengineering #innovation #additivemanufacturing #robotics #MultiMaterial #sensoring
