We’d like to thank CIDETEC Surface Engineering for the #collaboration and for hosting the kick-off meeting of the #EUROSTARS #Boost3Dmetal project on June 11th and 12th. 🔧 The Boost3Dmetal project aims to advance metal Powder-Bed-Fusion (#PBF) #technology through customized surface treatments for complex PBF surfaces. 💡 We at Fraunhofer IAPT will contribute #innovative #design solutions to enhance the #efficiency and #quality of this #technology. A key focus will be on the importance of proper component design for successful #postprocessing. When designing components for #additivemanufacturing, it's crucial to consider not only the manufacturing process requirements but also the requirements of downstream processes. This task is becoming increasingly complex and unclear due to the multitude of processes involved. 📊 Our goal is to incorporate all these boundary conditions into a software tool to enable automated component evaluation more easily. 🚀 We are looking forward to the upcoming #advancements we will achieve together. #Boost3Dmetal #AdditiveManufacturing #EUROSTARS

🔎Interview: How SMBs of all industries can profit from AM🔍   🎙️In a recent #interview with ELBCAMPUS, Prof. Dr. Ingomar Kelbassa, institute director of the Fraunhofer IAPT, talks about the significant impact #AM technology will have on the craft trades. While currently more common in large corporations, Additive Manufacturing offers many opportunities for small and medium sized businesses. Applications ranging from custom bicycle frames to dental crowns demonstrate the technology’s versatility.   ELBCAMPUS Kompetenzzentrum Handwerkskammer Hamburg and Fraunhofer IAPT are cooperating on an exclusive #training course. In the interview Prof. Dr. Ingomar Kelbassa reveals why a training beyond the academic realm is more than overdue and how the introduction of AM offers SMBs competitive advantages throughout the manufacturing process. #AdditiveManufacturing #AM #ELBCAMPUS #FraunhoferIAPT #Interview #Training #CraftTrades

👉Was meinen Sie damit?
