📣 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲! 🌱 Our Flying Health partner, GWQ ServicePlus AG, has successfully completed the first generics tender with sustainability criteria. In collaboration with 35 company health insurances, the GWQ launched the tender at the beginning of April. The tender included eight lots for environmentally intensive active ingredients and combinations, such as the sedative and sleep aid Oxazepam or the contraceptive combination Levonorgestrel and Ethinylestradiol. Despite the high demands, all the offers received were economically attractive.  This outcome shows that many suppliers are already environmentally conscious. Sustainable solutions in the pharmaceutical sector are possible and sustainability and economics can successfully go hand in hand. GWQ and its partners are sending a strong signal to the pharmaceutical industry and the health insurance sector. We congratulate the GWQ-team on this achievement and are proud to work with actors at Flying Health who, like us, are convinced of the benefits of sustainability and are determined to implement it. Our Principal Alexander Whyte had a fantastic time at the Barcamp Health Innovation organized by HealthCapital Berlin-Brandenburg and Partners.  This year, participants focused on the patient's journey through our healthcare system - from prevention to acute care, rehabilitation, and follow-up. There was a total of 9 diverse sessions, including topics such as exploring the potential of the TI-Messenger in the patient pathway of a pregnant woman, diving into the Safe-App by TK, a partner of the event, and discussing the possibilities of the ePA and the usage of AI to make healthcare more accessible for non-native speakers. It was a successful event with exciting discussions and numerous opportunities for exchange with inspiring thinkers. Special thanks to Sarah Schulze, Ulrike Braeter and many others for your enthusiasm and organization. It was an honor to be part of it.

The new regulation is set to shape the future of AI in Europe and will impact the healthcare and life sciences industry as well.     Here is a glimpse into some of the key points: 🔹𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵: AI systems classified into four risk categories with varying degrees of requirements (see image below).  🔹𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗔𝗜: Critical sectors including healthcare must adhere to rigorous standards, ensuring safety and reliability.  🔹𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗢𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: AI interacting with humans or making legal decisions must be transparent.  🔹𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: Non-compliance can result in fines up to 6% of global turnover.  🔹𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗼𝘅: Regulatory sandboxes to test and develop new AI technologies.    Stay ahead by joining our ecosystem! ❗Three common mistakes when entering the German healthcare market❗   In our work, we often advise international start-ups and companies that want to enter the German market. This is understandable - despite some regulatory hurdles, Germany offers attractive scaling and reimbursement opportunities. However, we often observe three misconceptions that make successful market entry difficult:   1️⃣ "A sales distributor is enough to be successful." ☝ Unfortunately not. Without personal commitment and market customisation, sustainable success is unlikely. A solid network and understanding of the German healthcare system are essential.   1️⃣ "I know one market access channel and that is enough" 🚫 Not always. There are often better options that are faster and offer higher reimbursements. It is important to examine different access routes and reimbursement options.   3️⃣ "English is enough to get by in the German market." 🗣 Unfortunately not. German-speaking contacts and well-translated documents are crucial to build trust and facilitate interaction with local players.   Germany is an exciting market. Three days of HAUPTSTADTKONGRESS, exciting panels, great conversations, and fresh insights. Our healthcare system faces many challenges – but there are also countless innovative solutions and new ideas. Representing us on-site were Karen Piontek and Serap Konak.    This year, as part of the event, the first #HSK Innovation Pitch took place, which we at Flying Health were pleased to support together with KPMG and Springer Medizin.    After the Pre-Pitches, the four finalists - myScribe GmbH (Ira Romy Alice Stoll), sqior medical (Philipp Wolf), AMMEVA GmbH (Dr. med. Franz Koettnitz), and biopeak GmbH (Jonathan Chmiel) - had the chance to present their solutions in front of leading experts in the healthcare industry.   In the end, it was Biopeak that impressed the jury of scientific leaders – Dr. Matthias Bracht, Dr. med. Iris Hauth, Vera Lux, and Wolfgang von den Bergh – the most and was awarded first place. Congratulations to the entire team.
