ESBSC x Deloitte Recap 🎓💚💼 On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, ESB Student Consulting had the opportunity to engage in a highly engaging PowerPoint Workshop with Deloitte. The workshop commenced with a warm welcome and an insightful introduction to the significance of working at Deloitte. The participants were then immersed in learning key strategies for structuring content and creating engaging slides. The session was divided into three main parts, each focusing on a critical aspect of crafting the perfect presentation and trying to work on them in groups. In the first part, Deloitte experts discussed the essential elements of presentation structure. They emphasized the importance of a clear narrative flow, logical sequencing of ideas, and the strategic use of headings and subheadings. Students were then given the chance to work in small groups to draft their own presentation structures, receiving immediate feedback from Deloitte consultants. The second part of the workshop focused on content creation. This segment highlighted the importance of concise messaging, impactful visuals, and data representation. The final part of the workshop centered on the art of presenting. Deloitte professionals shared tips on effective delivery, body language, and audience engagement. Students practiced their presentation skills in front of their peers and Deloitte consultants, who provided constructive feedback and practical advice for improvement. 📈🙏 After the formal sessions concluded, the evening transitioned into a relaxed networking event. Over drinks and pizza, students and Deloitte consultants continued their discussions, sharing insights and getting to know each other better. This provided a fantastic opportunity for our student members to build connections and gain deeper insights into the consulting world. ESBSC x Horváth Recap 🧑💼👩💼 On the evening of Thursday, 2nd May 2024, Horváth Management Consultancy offered fifteen members of ESB Student Consulting e.V. the opportunity to gain special practical insights and to learn and network at their Stuttgart office. With a focus on practice and engagement, the workshop offered mutual presentations by Horváth and the ESB SC, followed by interesting project insights, where sample projects provided valuable insights into real-world consulting scenarios and problem-solving strategies. Over delicious pizza, snacks and drinks, we had the opportunity to network and ask questions to the Horváth consultants and recruiters. 🍕🫱🏻🫲🏿📊 After the break, a PowerPoint Karaoke Challenge was held to test our ability to deliver impromptu presentations. This exercise fostered critical thinking and effective communication skills under pressure. Each of us received valuable feedback on our presentation and our social skills. The highlight of the workshop was the get-together on the rooftop terrace, where each of us had the opportunity to network and ask further questions while enjoying the view of Stuttgart at night. 📈😍🌃 We would like to thank the organisers and participants for their contributions to the success of the Horváth Workshop. ESBSC x BCG Recap 🚀 On Wednesday, March 21, 2024, ESB Student Consulting kicked off its series of events with a highly engaging workshop in collaboration with BCG on the topic of Slide Design🎨 and Storytelling🎙. This session was an enlightening exploration into the strategies and techniques that make for exceptional slide decks and aiming at developing valuable consulting skills among our student members. After a quick introduction from the ESB Student Consulting Board Members, the workshop commenced with a warm welcome and an insightful introduction to the significance of working at BCG. The participants were then immersed in learning key strategies for structuring content and creating engaging slides. Our student members had the opportunity to interactively participate in the presentation by analyzing slide examples on how to improve them. We ended the evening with enriching conversations and networking over drinks and pizza🍕. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Sebastian Lunz, Laura Schopp, Jil Haferkamp, Lavinia H. and Celina Laue workshop was a valuable learning experience for all our student members, equipping them with practical skills that will undoubtedly enhance their future presentations. KPMG Finance Transformation X ESB Student Consulting On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, the ESB Student Consulting welcomed KPMG Region Südwest for a very exciting workshop about Controlling and ESG in the future. After a brief introduction the students gained insights into topics such as steering models, ESG policies and first information about the case study. Followed by a short pizza break with snacks and drinks, our student members were able to take over the role of a consultant and prepared a practical company case study. The final result was presented by each group, including steering models and ESG strategies with important financial and sustainability indicators for the company representatives. We ended the evening with pleasant conversations and networking. Overall, each of the motivated participants received really valuable tips, learnings, plus some nice goodies. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to KPMG Region Südwest, Florian Oberle, Carolin Gier, Max Meier and Christopher R. for these invaluable insights into the day-to-day operations of a consulting company, and we are already looking forward to future projects, collaborations, and seminars. ESBSC x Accenture - October Recap On October 16, 2023, ESB Student Consulting kicked off the winter semester with over 100 motivated students. Our board team, consisting of Jan, Max, Valentin, Philip, and Lara introduced the future consultants and team members to the essential information about the association. Following an interesting presentation, there was a brief break, allowing the newly formed consultant teams to get to know each other and exchange ideas. In the second part of the event, we welcomed Frederik Haas and Benjamin Borchert from the globally renowned consulting firm Accenture DACH. After a brief introduction, an engaging workshop on PowerPoint slides and how to create effective ones in the consulting industry took place. They shared crucial tips and tricks for designing compelling slides. The future consultants were also provided with valuable information about the consultancy firm, including potential working areas and opportunities for involvement during their studies. The evening concluded with pleasant conversations and pizza. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Frederik Haas and Benjamin Borchert from Accenture DACH for their insightful glimpse into the world of consulting and the helpful tips for creating professional PowerPoint slides! We are looking forward to an exciting semester filled with exciting corporate projects. Our goal is to gain in-depth experience in the field of management consulting.
