Info

EHEDG: food safety through hygienic design. With a common goal to advance hygiene, improve food safety, and increase cleaning efficiency and effectiveness during the processing and packaging of food products, EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group) brings together stakeholders in the food supply chain. Besides practical guidelines, test procedures and certification, training and education, EHEDG offers an exchange platform for global food professionals to combine collective experience and improve hygienic design. Founded in 1989, EHEDG is a foundation that has lead the way in guiding the food industry in hygienic design. The European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) was founded in 1989 as a non-profit consortium of equipment manufacturers, food producers, suppliers to the food industry, research institutes and universities, public health authorities and governmental organisations. The principal goal of EHEDG is the promotion of safe food by improving hygienic engineering and design in all aspects of food manufacture. EHEDG actively supports European legislation, which requires that handling, preparation processing and packaging of food is done hygienically using hygienic machinery and in hygienic premises according to the food hygiene directive, the machinery directive and the food contact materials directive (see EC Directive 2006/42/EC for Machinery, EN 1672-2 and EN ISO 14159 on Hygiene requirements for the design of machinery). Equipment manufacturers and users are responsible to implement these requirements and EHEDG provides them guidance on the essential hygienic design standards in compliance with national and international legislation. The EHEDG mission is defined as: "EHEDG enables safe food production by providing guidance as an authority on hygienic engineering and design".

🗣️ Speaker Reveal 🗣️ We are happy to announce that James Hartley, the Global Sanitation Director at Mondelēz International and member of the EHEDG Advisory Board, will be taking the stage in Nantes at the EHEDG World Congress 2024! His presentation, titled “𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧”, will share the approaches taken by one of the largest food manufacturing companies in the world. Ranging from processes, technical requirements, competencies and capabilities of those involved, to challenges of managing this on a global level. “A multidisciplinary team approach is critical to the success of equipment selection. By including the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in the early discussions and ensuring that hygienic design principles are being built into the equipment rather than being added as an afterthought, we achieve a much better result, not just for food safety, but also quality, performance and sustainability objectives.” 🔗 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐰: https://lnkd.in/eTVTN6Dz 📅 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 2&3 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞! 👤 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞?
