Record send-out at Brunsbüttel! We are happy to announce that our LNG terminal at Brunsbüttel has achieved a record send-out rate. 121,5 GWh/d have been delivered from the FSRU “Hoegh Gannet” as daily average rate into the German grid so far this month. This is the highest send-out rate ever measured since the commissioning of the terminal in March 2023. For comparison: the average send out during the same period last year equaled to only about 50 GWh/d. The more than doubled send-out rate was reached in close coordination with Höegh thanks to optimization of technical processes, allowing us to make use of higher grid capacities after the commissioning of the Gasunie ETL 180 pipeline. By the increased send-out rate, another step forward towards more Energy Security for Germany and our European neighbors has been taken. #Versorgungssicherheit #energysecurity #securityofsupply #FSRU #brunsbüttel #capacities #LNG #Deutschland #Germany #Europa #Europe Höegh LNG Brunsbüttel Ports GmbH Gasunie Deutschland

Our next marketing round for regasification capacities begins in June and for the first time long-term capacities will be offered. In four digital marketing campaigns, the first of which begins on June 13 with an auction of short-term capacities, market participants can acquire capacities for Brunsbüttel and Wilhelmshaven 1. After that market participants will have the opportunity to purchase long-term capacities from 2025 to 2027. This will be possible in the period from 17 to 28 June. DET plans to market the remaining capacities in July. Next step taken: we are pleased to announce that the business structure for our LNG terminal Wilhelmshaven 2 is complete. Specialized Lithuanian company KN Energies has been contracted to take over the tasks of technical operation and maintenance at the terminal, which is currently under construction. Dr Peter Röttgen, DET Managing Director: "We are pleased to have found an experienced service provider for Operations and Maintenance at our Wilhelmshaven 2 site, with whom we already have a good cooperation. This enables good synergies within our project for the security of supply in Germany and Europe." Commissioning of the new terminal is expected in the second half of 2024. DET is responsible for the overall operational management. Security of supply and gas price stability for Germany and our European neighbors: In 2022, the war against Ukraine and the sudden loss of Russian gas imports forced us to substitute gas imports very quickly. Sources such as Norway and the Netherlands proved to be helpful to avoid gas shortages and failures. Another key step towards energy security as well as to secure the path towards climate neutrality is the buildup of new LNG capacities. “Let us learn from history”, DET Managing Director Dr Peter Röttgen, said today during a panel discussion on the role of European LNG-terminals as part of the Flame conference in Amsterdam. “Energy security does not work without alternative import options. Whatever the future holds, our LNG terminals offer security of supply and price stability for Germany and our European neighbors.” Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET) operates LNG-Terminals along the German North Sea. In Q4 2023, DET’s operational terminals had a capacity occupation rate of over 80%, which is above the European average. And for 2024 imports through our terminals are expected to equal up to 14% of the entire German gas demand. DET Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH Brunsbüttel Ports GmbH Schleswig-Holstein. Der echte Norden. Höegh LNG #brunsbüttel #Versorgungssicherheit #securityofsupply #FSRU #Deutschland #Europa #LNG Next step on the way to more security of supply for German energy imports: Together with Schleswig-Holstein's Economics Minister Claus Ruhe Madsen, Mayor Martin Schmedtje and Brunsbüttel Port's CEO Frank Schnabel, DET Managing Director Dr Peter Röttgen accompanied the first ramming of the new pier today, the so called “Jetty West” in Brunsbüttel. Two goals are being pursued: Upon completion of its new, own pier the FSRU Höegh Gannet will be able to convert liquid natural gas from LNG-carriers more smoothly, to feed it into the German gas grid. This increases capacities and leads to better planning and security for the energy supply to households, industry and commerce. At the same time other users will gain back space on the current harbor quay that they were able to use before – which is important for the processing companies in the adjoining ChemCoast Park.
