A big milestone for the entire crypto space! 📣 𝐌𝐢𝐂𝐀 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝🌍 🕐A few months ago, CCRI has teamed up with the Cardano Foundation to work on a sustainability assessment of the Cardano blockchain, specifically focusing on the mandatory sustainability indicators under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. 📝 We are happy to announce the launch of the report on the assessment methodology and results for the Cardano network. This report highlights the commitment of Layer 1 networks to sustainability and regulatory compliance. ⚖ This report helps CASPs to comply with the upcoming MiCA sustainability indicators disclosure requirements for all serviced assets, including Cardano, allowing them to easily access and use the data for their reporting obligations. Further, our report helps other cryptocurrency networks to understand the regulatory requirements on sustainability disclosures and potential ways to comply. CCRI goes USA 🇺🇸 (2/2): Consensus in Austin, TX 🏙 After Boston, we headed to Austin to visit Consensus. ✈ Consensus by CoinDesk is one of the largest crypto conferences and naturally, the Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute had to be there. It was great to meet so many new and old friends, chatted about crypto in general, sustainability and, of course, the new & upcoming MiCA regulation. ⚖ 🌟 It was an immense pleasure and we look forward to next year! 🌟

CCRI goes USA 🇺🇸 (1/2): Research Talk @ MIT 🎓 Last week, the CCRI team headed to the USA. ✈️ As a first stop, we stayed two days in Boston, visiting old friends. Additionally, I was invited by the MIT Digital Currency Initiative (DCI) to talk about the crypto sustainability disclosure in the upcoming MiCA regulation. It was great to be back at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and share insights about our ongoing research at Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute. 🌟 Thanks so much for having us! 🌟

PayPal published its 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 📑🌍 We are delighted that the 𝗛𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 which we co-developed together with South Pole served again as a basis to calculate PayPal's scope 3 emissions associated with crypto-assets and forms the foundation to mitigate the climate impacts. The CCRI Munich Team seized the opportunity of the last powder day of the season on Zugspitze - Germany’s highest mountain - to celebrate recent partnership announcements and to recharge ahead of the upcoming MiCA implementation deadlines. Guided by our Data Scientist Johann Schworm  - who is not only a blockchain wizard but also a Swiss Ski instructor! - we had a fantastic day in the snow.
