#RUBIKON - Table-top exercise on Critical Maritime Infrastructure Protection (CMIP) held in Brussels   Exercise RUBIKON - co-organised by EDA and the Center of Excellence for operations in Confined and Shallow Waters #COECSW, and conducted under the auspices of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024 - involved representatives of more than 30 stakeholders from three neighbouring coastal Member States (BE, NL, DE), with European Commission DG's MARE & DG HOME, the #EEAS, Frontex, European Maritime Safety Agency and SatCen observing and supporting the activities was held at Council of the European Union premises on 28 and 29 May.   The participants delved into the live realisation of crisis scenarios of increasing complexity taking place in the North Sea, starting at the national operational level and escalating to a higher cross-border decision-making level. The aim of the exercise, follow-on to EDA's first Symposium on #CMIP, was to support Member States' efforts in protecting their critical maritime infrastructure.    RUBIKON, considering the policy guidelines and recommendations at EU level, aimed to be a concrete step at the operational level to improve national and cross-border cooperation, coordination and information sharing between coastal neighbours.  #EUdefence #maritime #maritimesecurity #defence #criticalinfrastructure

From #Seabed to #Space! Together with the Bundeswehr Cyber Innovation Hub , our activities to protect critical maritime infrastructure have been introduced at the Munich Security Conference 2024 Innovation Night. In a constant effort to increase Maritime Domain Awareness (#MDA) from the seabed to the surface, we are combining multiple space-based, aerial, surface as well as underwater data sources with modern analytics in a Multi-Sensor Data Fusion Cell (#MSDFC). Improving the combat readiness of NATO’s maritime forces through distributed synthetic training! Dynamic Mirage 24, #NATO’s first maritime distributed synthetic exercise led by #MARCOM, came to an end. The COE CSW is very happy to have contributed to this successful and most promising step towards a new level of NATO training. Ships and aircraft teams in Canada, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and the UK were connected and conducted warfare training together. Supporting staff and observers from Denmark, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Spain gained direct insight into the exercise at the German Navy Support Command in Wilhelmshaven. #STRONGERTOGETHER #COECSW #FRAUNHOFER FKIE #NAVYCOMMANDOFTHEGERMANNAVY

With great pleasure, the COE CSW received a visit from the Head of the Wargaming Section Staffan Granberg and his team from the Swedish Defence University.
