Hello from Taipe 🖐 The two gentlemen on the right are no less than the top-2 world experts in graphic cards who were briefly meeting during #Computex in Taiwan this week: Andrew Gibson is Head of GPU buying at Overclockers UK and I am very happy to have him with the Pro Gamers Group. And the gentleman on the far right is Jeff Fisher, SVP at NVIDIA, Employee No. 26 when joining NVIDIA back in 1994, and still today reporting directly into Jensen. He surely knows also quite a bit about GPUs 😉   💭 Briefly reflecting on the last days here in Taipe: I was meeting with many customers, suppliers, and business partners, and truly enjoyed hearing and learning so much about the latest technology trends which is a lot about AI these days.   💡 So what was the talk of the town? Well, the possible end of Moore’s Law appeared to me more like a theoretical discussion. What I found more interesting to see is that the latest real-life AI applications don't require large workstations with hundreds of graphic cards anymore. Instead, you can now run even the latest and greatest LLMs very efficiently on your PC remotely without online access to ensure data protection and privacy, like Intel's new AI Playground run on their Arc GPU. This will bring a lasting productivity boost to many small- and medium sized businesses very very soon.    🚀 With Pro Gamers Group we are already invested in this space where we are serving SMB customers with bespoke systems to maximize performance for specific software applications across different industries. Check out our RENDA business unit led by Ian „8Pack“ Perry, World Record breaking Overclocker, and today a pivotal part of our mission at Pro Gamers Group, see link in the comments.   📈 Another big trend on the consumer technology side is all about offering more value-for-money in entry- to mid-price ranges across categories: introducing new compact-sized PC cases, SimRacing rigs, trimmed-down streaming equipment, etc., which is all about making technology more affordable.   ⁉ And, yes, we also talked a lot about the 5090s… but this is for later.   All in all, this was a great week since I got to spend all days side-by-side with the best team: A lively and lovely crew of real topic-matter experts, serious doers and always up for a good laugh.   I wish you all safe travels back! GROW WEST. 🌎 Pro Gamers Group is a global group of companies with offices across Europe, Asia, and Australia - but no presence in the US yet. This gotta change! So my first business travel this year carried me westbound: Spending a couple of days in LA together with Tony who is co-leading our global Brands division out of Taiwan. See the pictures below: Doesn't look like work and, yet, it is 😎 Our discussions with business partners on that weekend reminded me of two well known facts: 1️⃣ First, what a great market the US really is in terms of size and growth and overall dynamics. 2️⃣ Second, what incredible talent pool there is 🤠👌 We have met such great mix of unique management talent: very entrepreneurial minds, self-determined team players (often with a sports background), pragmatic decision makers with a strong bias for action claiming responsibility and praising individual performance and value creation. All of this comes with a good dose of optimism and overall confidence. Much of this is deeply rooted in the US culture and must be seen in this context. I went to a US kindergarten myself and learned to embrace the good vibes of creativity and positivity from early on. Feeling „overclocked“ 💯🚀❤️ When I joined the Pro Gamers Group earlier this year in May, it looked great from the outside: this unique business model combining direct-to-consumer brands and a global retail and distribution network in the dynamic PC Gaming industry. But it looks even better from the inside! I am so happy to have met so many colleagues worldwide this year. Some impressions are captured on the pictures below, the best moments remain undocumented 😉🕺 Whatever business or region, you will often find this same great mindset at Pro Gamers Group: people who are curious to learn, grounded in facts, passionate, eager to win, committed to play for the team, no ego, no business bullshit.
