Resource conservation and digitalisation: BIKAR RECYCLING GmbH in the "TwinCE" project We are proud to be part of the future-oriented "TwinCE" project. As part of this research project, we are working together with the Faculty of Information Systems and New Media (Head: Prof. Dr. Volker Wulf) and the Faculty of Materials Science of Prof. Dr. Axel von Hehl at the Universität Siegen. We are also working with the Institute for Machine Elements and System Development at RWTH Aachen University. Another practical partner is Franz Hillebrand KG from Iserlohn. The common goal is to minimise the use of new resources and reduce emissions. BIKAR RECYCLING GmbH is committed to using innovative digital solutions to sustainably improve the recycling process and further optimise resource conservation. Our involvement in the project is an important step for us. Dr. Jonas B. Weber, Head of Digital Innovation at BIKAR, emphasises: "Digitalisation offers us new opportunities to use resources more efficiently and thus make a decisive contribution to sustainability." Lisa Schmidt, Head of Sustainability and Compliance, states: "Sustainability is not just a trend for us. It is an integral part of our corporate philosophy. By participating in the 'TwinCE' project, we can actively work on making our processes even more environmentally friendly." Jan Philipp Traut, Quality and Sustainability Manager at BIKAR, explains: "The digital twin allows us to map and optimise material properties before they are incorporated into the production process. This saves resources, ensures information is passed on early in the supply chain and reduces waste." Marie-Theres Heß, Key Account Manager Recycling, sees the "TwinCE" project as a great opportunity: "Our collaboration with the University of Siegen and our industrial partners allows us to develop innovative solutions and significantly increase the efficiency of our recycling processes." Genau wegen dieser innovative Weiterentwicklung der Aluminiumverarbeitung sind wir für den Umweltwirtschaftspreis.NRW 2024 nominiert. ----- 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱?   We demonstrate this with the symbiosis of advanced digitalisation and efficient material processing in our fully automated cutting centre, the BIKAR ZONE.   Our sustainability strategy is based on three central pillars: resource procurement, process-integrated sustainability and circular economy.   In other words: 🌱 We place great importance on environmentally responsible procurement and compliance with strict certification standards right from the start of the production process. 🌱 Digitalised cutting channel optimisation, advanced measurement technologies and robot handling lead to a reduction in material consumption and the amount of scrap produced. 🌱 Specially developed systems for extracting and compacting the chips produced during the cutting process enable alloy-pure separation. This significantly increases recyclability and minimises the amount of material removed from the cycle. The BIKAR ZONE is a success story that shows how consistent digitalisation and automation, along with their holistic integration into the value chain, contribute to promoting sustainability in metal processing.   It is precisely because of this innovative advancement in aluminum processing that we have been nominated for the Umweltwirtschaftspreis.NRW 2024. #sustainability #circulareconomy #innovation #aluminium

Umweltwirtschaftspreis.NRW: Wir sind nominiert! 🥳 Wir haben es geschafft: Wir gehören zu den 10 nominierten Unternehmen für den Umweltwirtschaftspreis NRW 2024! Der Preis wird seit 2020 alle zwei Jahre als gemeinsame Initiative des nordrhein-westfälischen Umweltministeriums und der NRW.BANK vergeben und würdigt die Vorreiter der Umweltwirtschaft in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Im Mittelpunkt unserer Nominierung steht die BIKAR ZONE, unser vollautomatisiertes Zuschnittzentrum für Aluminiumplatten. Robotik, digitale Prozesse und fortschrittliche Metallverarbeitungstechnologien senken den Rohstoffbedarf und die Treibhausgas-Emissionen in dieser Produktionsstätte signifikant im Vergleich zu manuellen Verfahren. 🤞 Drücken Sie uns die Daumen für den 16. Moderner Modellbau mit FORMODAL® 023! Ein hochpräzises Werkzeug aus unserem Material FORMODAL® 023, basierend auf EN AW 5083 Guss allseitig gesägt, wurde von unserem Kunden Modellbau Blödt aus Amberg gefertigt. Dieses Werkzeug wurde erfolgreich zur Formung von Komponenten für einen überdimensionierten Ball eingesetzt. Die FORMODAL-Gussplatten aus EN AW-5083 zeichnen sich durch niedrige Eigenspannung, hervorragende Korrosionsbeständigkeit und hohe Formstabilität aus. Dadurch eignet sich FORMODAL® 023 hervorragend für zahlreiche Anwendungen im Werkzeug-, Formen- und Modellbau und ist ideal für die Zerspanung. Unsere erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit hat den Weg für ein beeindruckendes Produkt geebnet. This tool was successfully used to mould components for an oversized ball. FORMODAL cast plates (alloy EN AW-5083) are characterised by low residual stresses, excellent corrosion resistance and high dimensional stability. This makes FORMODAL® 023 ideal for a wide range of tool, mould and model making applications, as well as for machining. Our successful collaboration has paved the way for an impressive product.
