In a joint development agreement, the two parties are further expanding their existing collaboration. In this major project, both companies are working on the development of new high-performance materials that could help shape the future of electric drives. The materials are characterised by excellent dielectric properties. Thinner layer thicknesses and partial discharge-free insulation are already possible and enable the development of new motors with high efficiency and a long service life. The materials are the best in their class in terms of long-term temperature behaviour and chemical resistance. Test results show not only improved insulation properties of the conductors in the stator, but also a significantly improved overall efficiency of the machine compared to equivalent motors. The cooperation is designed to be a multi-year partnership. Together, we want to drive forward the development of energy-saving drives worldwide and make a contribution to global climate protection. Electrification for the toughest We support our customers in the development of new electric drives with customized solutions, for example to make it easier to switch from combustion engines to electric motors in commercial vehicles. - These days, engines with low-rpm concepts and high torques are often found there. To make electrification as simple as possible, we work with the customer to find a solution that requires as little intervention as possible in the drive system architecture. To this end, we utilise an extensive electromagnetic and thermal design tool chain as early as the design phase. Through the targeted use of 3D printing, our customers not only receive a prototype for the test bench or for field tests very quickly, but we are also able to produce quantities for highly specialised applications. One speciality: we do not limit ourselves to one special technology, but also master custom-made products for single coils or axial flux motors, for example, in addition to distributed windings. Thanks to state-of-the-art insulation, a high degree of copper filling and optimised cooling concepts, we achieve the highest torques, which enables our customers to dispense with additional gear stages, for example. The world's first radial flux motor with SMC core Together with Alvier Mechatronics, we have now realised an innovative electric motor with an SMC-based stator core. Together, we are pioneering the fastest market launch of high-performance electric motors. The use of SMC material for stator cores enables high power densities and excellent automation potential for series production. In contrast to the conventional production of laminated cores from rolled and stamped steel, this new generation of stator cores is sintered.
