🚀 Why we started acemate 🚀 While studying for exams last winter term, we realized that even though there are a lot of existing AI learning tools, most weren’t sophisticated enough to meet the academic standards of higher education. Additionally, they often fell short in addressing the actual challenges faced by students on a daily basis. So we decided to take matters into our own hands and began building acemate.ai. Here's how we're solving real problems for university students: 📚 Not enough practice materials:  Generate custom practice exams based on your course materials. 🔁 No feedback: Get immediate evaluations on your answers and identify areas for improvement. 📝 No solutions for mock exams: Upload your existing exams and exercises to get hints and solutions. 💬 No specific answers: Get detailed explanations to questions with specific page sources from your documents. ⏳ Limited time: Save time with concise and well-structured summaries of lecture slides. 😵💫 Confusing interconnections: Use our knowledge graphs to understand relationships between topics visually. By addressing these problems, we've developed a product that truly supports students where they need it most. 👨🏼💻 acemate Tech Stack 👨🏼💻 Last week we launched the beta version of acemate.ai to the world. After three intense months of development and over 1000 commits, we were thrilled to finally make our product available to a wider audience. The number of active users and the feedback we've received have been incredibly encouraging—people seem to love acemate! 🌟 Of course, being a beta, there are still some rough edges, but if we maintain this pace, I truly believe we can create a tool that transforms how students study in higher education. 🎓✨ I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the companies behind our tech stack. Without them, our rapid development and free beta usage would not have been possible: Supabase: Insane developer experience both locally and in prod, which made me fall in love with postgres. Google Cloud: Gemini Flash was a game changer for us in terms of performance/price ratio and the support through the Google Cloud for Startups Program has been superb. Shoutout to Johannes Frese and Ismael Cama Moumen Cloudflare: From the incredibly cheap hosting on Cloudflare Pages, to products like workers, queues and R2, Cloudflare is at the core of our infrastructure. Groq: Your outstanding inference times at low cost are integral to some of our key features. Vercel: From Next.js to the Vercel AI SDK and v0 with shadcn, your open-source approach has enabled us to move fast and efficiently. But please just fix your caching guys haha 😉 Additionally, I want to acknowledge the countless libraries and contributions from the open-source community that we rely on. Listing them all would exceed the scope of this post, but their impact is invaluable. Moreover, we have the most hacky local dev setup using turborepo and symlinks that enables us to start our whole tech stack locally (yes, even the connection to queues and workers).
