Graph of seven-day average COVID-19 cases in Brazil, India, and the U.S.

Reuters has created a series of visualizations that show the toll of COVID-19 on Brazil, India, and the United States, three countries that account for 75 percent of COVID-19 cases globally. One graph shows that while the seven-day average of COVID-19 cases in Brazil and the United States have flattened at approximately 70,000 daily cases, India has experienced a dramatic surge, rising from 11,000 daily cases to 220,000 daily cases in the past two months. Another graph compares the daily vaccination rates across the three countries to show that while daily vaccination rates in Brazil and the United States are trending upward, daily vaccination rates in India peaked at 4.5 million doses on April 5 but have begun to fall following the country’s second wave of coronavirus infections.
