The sending and delivery of WhatsApp template messages can fail for various reasons, ranging from simple server errors and invalid phone numbers to Meta's new frequency capping regulations. Here is a list of the most common errors you may encounter, and how to fix them.

There are restrictions on how many messages can be sent from this phone number, as too many of your previous messages were blocked or flagged as spam.

Reduce how often you send messages to avoid them from being flagged as spam.

Sending failed because you sent too many messages to the same recipient too quickly.

You have sent too many messages to the same recipient within a short period.

Wait before retrying to send messages to the same number. You can still message a different number immediately.

Sending failed because your account may be blocked temporarily for policy violations.

Your WhatsApp Business Account has been restricted due to the violation a platform policy.

The recipient's WhatsApp number is either invalid, they use an older version of WhatsApp, or they have not accepted our latest Terms of Service. This could be due to Meta’s frequency capping.

Using a non-WhatsApp communication method, ask the WhatsApp user to

1. Confirm that they can send a message to your WhatsApp business phone number.

2. Request customers to aAccept WhatsApp's latest Terms of Service, if not done already

3. Request customers to Update to the latest version of WhatsApp.

4. If it is due to frequency capping,  we request customers to wait and try later.

Sending failed due to issues with your WhatsApp account settings or payment method.

This could be due to an unattached payment account, exceeded credit line, inactive payment account, deleted or suspended WhatsApp Business Account, unavailable timezone or currency information, pending or declined MessagingFor request, or exceeding the conversation free tier without a valid payment method

Sending failed because the template content violates a WhatsApp policy.

Your template content violates a Meta policy such as template format or character limitations

Sending failed because Meta has paused this template.

Templates paused by Meta due to a low-quality rating cannot be sent in a template message.
