Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Despite its name, the flying gurnard cannot truly fly. It uses its pectoral fins to scare off predators by suddenly unfolding them, revealing bright colors and startling patterns. These fins are also used to maneuver on the seabed and propel itself short distances.
