We are pleased that China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) recently assisted the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) in completing a secondary offering of 0.64% of Saudi Aramco's shares on June 11th, 2024. The offering price was SAR 27.25 per share, and the gross sale proceeds amounted to around SAR 42.1 billion (USD 11.2 billion). As the sole Chinese investment bank with local expert in this historic transaction, CICC played an important role in attracting high-quality investor demand from China and the rest of Asia. This contribution bolstered the success of this offering. The transaction represents a remarkable milestone for Saudi Aramco, the world's largest oil producer, as the first global equity offering since its IPO in 2019. It also stands as the largest equity offering in the global capital markets from 2022 to date and the second largest equity offering in the oil and gas sector from 2011 to date, with the largest being Saudi Aramco's IPO in 2019.

Recently, CICC has co-organized a seminar titled "China Interbank Market-A New Era of Opportunity" with China Construction Bank and the LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group)  in Dubai. The seminar's main topic was how to attract and serve foreign institutions in opening up China's bond market to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Robert Yu, CICC's Deputy Head of FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities), introduced China's bond market, including transaction size, market structure, settlement mechanism and green bond market. Richad Soundardjee, Head of UAE Preparatory Team, discussed new opportunities in the Panda bond market and CIBM bond investment. More than 50 representatives from banks, insurance companies, pension funds and asset management firms in the Middle East attended the seminar.

On June 20th, 2024, China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Kuala Lumpur.  The MOU exchange ceremony was witnessed by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Aziz, Malaysia's Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, Chief Executive Officer of MIDA, and Stephen Ng, Head of Southeast Asia and South Asia Region, Chief Executive Officer of CICC Singapore. The MOU aims to strengthen economic and industrial collaboration, focusing on enhancing investment opportunities in high-value sectors and exploring supply chain integration within key industries in China and Malaysia. CICC's strength in cross-border transactions and its extensive network in China complements MIDA's strategic role in attracting high-value investments. Through this collaboration, CICC will support foreign investment from leading innovative companies, further boosting Malaysia's industrial development. 

Chen Liang, Chairman of CICC, has recently shared his insights with China Daily as the Stock Connect programme is stepping into its 10th anniversary. "Over the past decade, Stock Connect has proved to be a powerful tool in transforming and modernizing China's capital markets," He said in the op-ed article that this mechanism has created a solid foundation for integrating and further developing the two markets, marking an active practice of high-level financial opening-up through institutional opening-up. He noted that CICC will continue to leverage its professional know-how to actively serve cross-border capital flows by making full use of the advantages provided by the innovative mechanism of interconnection to further contribute to the high-level opening-up of the capital market and the high-quality development of the two markets. The Representative Office of China International Capital Corporation (Singapore) Pte. Limited in Ho Chi Minh City ("CICC Vietnam Representative Office") officially opened on 28th June 2024, marking another significant milestone in CICC's international strategy in Southeast Asia. Tran Tuan Vinh, the Chief Representative of the CICC Vietnam Representative Office, said: "We look forward to working with partners from China and Vietnam to contribute wisdom and strength to the economic development of both countries." Vietnam, a pivotal emerging economy in Southeast Asia, plays a key role in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
