We take data from the Global Carbon atlas which provides the average annual consumption per capita by country. We scale the average up and down based on our research. More info on our methodology here.

While no calculator can be truly 100% accurate, our goal is to make it short and simple while factoring the country average. It’s the best bang for your buck when it comes to length of quiz and accuracy.
