Welcome to the StackExhange network where they roll out design changes for the sake of design changes, and no matter how ghastly they look, they will never tell the person responsible for that design that they should never be allowed to design things, because upsetting that person would be a mortal sin. Making the eyes of millions bleed, on the other hand, is completely fine. — GSerg 58 mins ago

Q: All tag labels suddenly appear in bold font

Dan MašekOn all the sites, the tag names started appearing bold in the last 15 or so minutes. Looks rather garish. Is this some new un-announced feature release? For example: One of the worst affected pieces of UI is the "Watched Tags" box, which can easily end up with ten or more lines of bold text. He...

I'm hearing rumours that the UK general election is about to be called... Supposedly the PM's office isn't answering questions on it rather than denying it, as they have when similar rumours have circled previously. There's a 'must attend' Cabinet meeting this afternoon, and the political officials bench at Prime Minister's Questions today is looking very empty.

@CDJB wasn't that supposed to be happening at the next year's beginning or so?
@User1865345 that's the latest possible date - Sunak can call it at any point between now and January. The earliest date it can actually be held if he were to call it today would be the end of June :)
Okay. I see. Thanks!
@CDJB would the Tories benefit from an early election call, btw?
@User1865345 depends really, new inflation figures were released this morning which were good, but whether that will cut through to the general public I have no idea. I think waiting 'til January would be interpreted as clinging to power, but tbh anything could affect the result. I've seen people even suggest that holding an election around the end of the 2024 Euros could benefit the Tories if England does well!
@CDJB okay. The general sentiment is Labour, isn't it?
The latest elections seemed to be promising for Starmer.
@User1865345 yes, at the moment the polls suggest a pretty heavy Labour win

Considering that they did the search in plain clothes and not uniforms with protective gear and guns showing pokes a big hole in the claim.
@JoeW of course :-)

> Despite months of strong job growth, declines in the rate of inflation and record highs in stock indices, the survey indicated that a majority of Americans wrongly believe the country is in a recession. More worryingly for Joe Biden’s re-election prospects, nearly 60% blame “mismanagement” from his administration for making the situation worse.
