Would it be helpful to enable automatic "anti-icing" with Toasty, a chat antifreeze bot? toasty.ginger.rto.community

@Bianfable It's not about considering it to be AI generated - its about being about 99.98% sure that it is in fact AI generated. Go look for yourself if you're interested - paste the content of that answer in any ai detector (eg huggingface.co/openai-detector)

If people want to nominate themselves, it's time to start thinking about it: aviation.stackexchange.com/election/4

The fact that it could be on-topic on other sites doesn't mean it's off-topic here, and it's definitely related to aviation

I was passed by a car today with the licence plate "RVR 001". I was surprised I could see it at all. :)

@Koyovis Building a community isn't like watching television, it's closer to writing a television schedule. If you do nothing to discourage stupid questions, you become known as a site for stupid questions, and that way lies Yahoo Answers.

@quietflyer If you think I might be able to help a bit, feel free to ping me in my chatroom and we can try some experiments in chat.

I probably should say something just for old time's sake. My leaving has *nothing* to do with the fracas above, really. DL once made a SEDE query when we talked about the top contributors not contributing anymore, so it's the same for me but it was pointless keeping the avse account with that decision.

Hi, Everybody. I just finished a project of putting on my website the email flying journal I used to keep my family involved in what I was doing during the last few years that I flew. It's old stuff, but I highlighted the links of messages that have some detail about flying 747-100/200 aircraft. Some of you may find some of that of interest. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have here. The initial page is at terryliittschwager.com/emailjournal.php

The problem with building an airport at FL300 is you have to keep moving it up and down as the sea level pressure changes. :D

the senior instructor on the day advised him to take the registration of the aircraft that's too low, and when the chap said he'd need binoculars to read it, replied that in that case it couldn't possibly be too low

Wonder what NOTAMs are in force here:

A tag that's more in line with the actual outcomes of those questions would be , with the description "I have an idea that makes perfect sense to me but not to anybody who knows anything about aviation. Please explain to me in excruciating detail why my idea makes no sense."

@schn Your question would be fine on the main site. Homework questions are well accepted if you explain why you don’t understand. Go ahead and post it if Dan’s response didn’t clear it up for you.

Since we have so many tornados I'm going to petition the Kansas state legislature to change our nickname to "The Vortex Ring State." Much cooler than "The Sunflower State"

@Ethan Related: Your Logical Fallacy Is... -- Any time you want to debate a subject consider whether your argument falls into one of those categories. If it does it's a weak argument & should be revised or abandoned :)

@Federico it's a classic aviation joke where the tower tells the student pilot to "go around, traffic on the runway", the acknowledges (this repeats a few times), the student lands, rolls up to the traffic on the runway and taxis around it.

@voretaq7 Nah, plane is totally safe, it's the ground coming out of nowhere and hitting the plane that is the problem.

If you're a judge and you convict or acquit people according to your whims because you live in a democratic society, you'll get the sack. A judge's job is to apply the law that has already been democratically decided.
