Head Manufacturing and supply chain

for our Biotech business

In this role you will be reporting to the CEO, and you will be mainly responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations and supply chain management. This role involves strategic planning, process optimization, quality assurance, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective production and delivery of products. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in manufacturing and supply chain management, and ideally understand the biotechnology sector. Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

·       Oversee the entire manufacturing process to ensure production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

·       Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals and industry standards.

·       Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and technologies.

·       Collaborate with engineering team to facilitate the transfer of new products from development to production.

·       Implement inventory management strategies to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce excess inventory costs.

·       Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

·       Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of manufacturing and supply chain professionals.

·       Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

·       Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide feedback and coaching to team members.

·       Collaborate with senior management to align manufacturing and supply chain strategies with overall business goals.

·       Support Production. Troubleshooting in daily production. Investigate and resolve production issues related to process deviations or equipment malfunctions.

·       Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.

·       Train production staff on new processes, tools, and techniques to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

·       Create or improve existing SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures). Prepare detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and technical reports.

·       Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of process improvements.

·       Analyze production data and workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency

YOUR PROFILE

·       A Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management or Supply Chain Management or related field (ETH/FH or comparable form of education)

·       Experience in manufacturing

·       Customer- and service-oriented mindset

·       Good negotiating and strong communication skills in English and German.

·       Experience with ERP systems

·       At least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable function

·       Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred

·       Knowledge of Odoo ERP system is strongly preferred

·       Hands-on experience

·       Certification in Lean, Six Sigma

·       Knowledge of regulatory requirements for bioprocess manufacturing (e.g., GMP, ISO).
