Buying fake medications not only puts our health at risk but also burns money, which is harmful for the vulnerable communities of society. Many countries have been attempting to implement necessary policies on a global level with regard to counterfeits; however, we need to take some concrete actions to solve this problem. And I believe, there is still a dire need to evaluate the severity of counterfeit impact and work together to improve it both regionally and globally. #healthcare #counterfeitmedicines #safetyforall #Fakemedicines

Takeda, one of our esteemed members, has just released their 2024 Annual Integrated Report. We are happy to share with you the progress they made in FY2023 guided by their core values of Takeda-ism—Integrity, Fairness, Honesty, and Perseverance. One of the many highlights in this report showcases their innovative use of data and technology to drive efficiency, safety, and sustainability. As part of this initiative their vaccine, QDENGA, already available in 20 countries, will be leveraging ePI by PharmaLedger™ for patient information eleaflets. This dengue vaccine is offering hope to thousands of people in the fight against this serious mosquito-borne disease, which is only being made more challenging by the impact of climate change. Utilizing our electronic product information solution will not only provide patients with the most up-to-date product information, but it will help Takeda reach their ambitious sustainability goals. For many, the recent Vanity Fair article by Katherine Eban was their first exposure to the alarming vulnerabilities in the pharmaceutical supply chain. As we now are all aware, the lack of transparency in the supply chain can have devastating consequences. Inefficiencies can lead to stockouts and rising costs, and counterfeit drugs can be ineffective or even deadly. This is where the power of #digitaltwins comes into play. Unlike traditional solutions, digital twins create virtual replicas of physical drugs, capturing data in real time throughout their lifecycle. Imagine a digital medical package that tracks its temperature, location, and even potential tampering attempts.
