This patient came to me because he could no longer stand his removable prosthesis, which hurt him a lot. After the examination, we found that there was no bone in the upper jaw, and we had to resort to Zygomatic Implants, which are fixed in the malar bone of the face. Tufts In Switzerland-Biologically driven surgical and restorative protocols: The new normal in implant dentistry. What a wonderful hands-on, Demo and Live Surgery course, we thank our course directors -Dr Tristan Staas and Dr. Giacomo Fabbri. Dr Tristan Staas graduated from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands in 1988.Together with his wife Mieke Bergmans, who is also a dentist, they founded Staas & Bergmans Zorgvooruwmond in 1990, a praxis for general dentistry, and clinic for aesthetic dentistry and implantology in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. In 2012 they founded a second office, Staas & Bergmans Expertisevooruwmond, a partnership clinic consisting of various dental specialists working as a team treating patients needing complex therapy. Dr. Giacomo Fabbri, DDS, graduated with honors in dentistry and dental prosthodontics at the University of Pavia in 2003. He attended several postgraduate programs in Italy and abroad in the fields of Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Implant Dentistry and Esthetic Dentistry. Among these courses, the Master Program in Fixed Prosthodontics held by Dr. Mauro Fradeani had a significant role in his education and in his actual activities. The first day of the course covered in-depth discussion and learnings in the following topics: • Esthetic therapy in fixed prosthodontics: step by step analysis and workflow. Digitalization of the dental clinic: a new clinical workflow and an amazing tool for the communication. • 15 years of implant evolution, what have we learned? The biological width around dental implants: importance in restoration, surgical and prosthetic procedures. • Management of the implant / abutment interface area (IAI): the key point for the ideal complete integration of the final restoration. • Interfaces in implant therapy: a biologically driven concept. Covering bone interface, soft tissue interface, restorative interface and esthetic interface through an interactive lecture, discussion and evaluation of treated clinical cases. • The one abutment one time concept: surgical and prosthetic considerations Digital approach for idealizing the integration of the prosthetic outcome. • Prosthetic and surgical planning: preserve, recreate or replace the soft tissue morphology around implants. • Soft tissue management in the esthetic area in cases with delayed approach: prosthetic aspects and techniques. • Soft tissue management in the esthetic area in cases with immediate function: prosthetic aspects and technique. • The role of a multidisciplinary approach in modern restorative dentistry. • How to transfer the soft tissue morphology to the LAB?
