𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 Fixfast is a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of quality self-drilling construction fasteners. 🔩 In 2020, the company made a major investment in its manufacturing capability and began cold #forming its range of fasteners from wire coil. Teaming up with Carlo Salvi S.p.A., Fixfast found the desired solution: a turnkey production line. 🏭 The new, state-of-the-art manufacturing cell consists of a wire drawing machine, a double stroke heading machine (model CS 003) complete with induction system, a washing machine, a pointing unit and a thread rolling machine. The ultimate goal was a fully integrated manufacturing cell linking Internet-of-Things enabled machines in one of the sector’s first Industry 4.0 grade facilities. This ultimately gives Fixfast unprecedented control, so fasteners can be produced with greater speed and accuracy than ever before. 🎤 “All our machines work in synchronicity, starting from the unwinding of the wire. The load monitoring equipment detects possible problems, protecting the header mand its equipment and supporting the operator in job changes,” says Michael Edwards, Head of Engineering at Fixfast. Development review in virtual reality!   With the help of modern tools, concepts and new solutions can be tested and optimized for usability, ease of assembly and maintenance long before they are finalized.   In product development at Hatebur, we have tested the possibilities of a virtual design review for ourselves. Together with the designers, we were able to view the current state of development from the 3D CAD system in virtual space, try out operating situations “live” with virtual hands and experience accessibility for assembly or maintenance. The experience of virtually immersing myself in the design felt so real to me that I intuitively tried to hold on to one of the virtual handgrips when entering the machine's tool area. An exciting technology that has opened up a new level of exchange and provided important insights for improving product design. #hatebur #innovations

🔧 In the world of precision brass #forming, one of the most intricate challenges our customers face is creating deep-drilling holes in components such as spouts, screw nipples, and tap tops. 💡 In a joint effort by our engineering team, we have come up with a solution for this challenge: a flexible die system designed for workpieces requiring deep drilling. This new system can manage a long flow section of up to about 38 mm, a significant advancement in our field. 𝗦𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? The key is a gas spring assembly. It operates with a movable piston, supported by a nitrogen-filled cavity. This setup ensures consistent performance and precision during forming. 🆕 This innovation leads to increased accuracy and efficiency. By overcoming limitations in deep drilling, we open doors to new manufacturing opportunities. 👁️ About five times faster than the blink of an eye: that is the speed at which cut-offs are sheared from heated metal bars on our presses. As breath-takingly quick as this may seem, the process still offers considerable potential to increase efficiency. By developing a 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗼𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽, we made a groundbreaking improvement. The innovative component combines much higher shearing quality with less time needed for inspecting the produced parts. Until last year, the servohydraulic bar stop was exclusively used with the Hatebur Hotmatic HM 75. In close cooperation with our customer GKN Automotive, we now installed this system on an AMP 70 for the first time. Working together to create new solutions and always stay on top of the game has always been an important part of our philosophy. GKN Production Manager Jörg Rohles sums it up best: “We started using a HM 75 ten years ago… and have made various refinements in collaboration with Hatebur. 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 The leading trade fair for the wire and cable industry once again presented itself as an impressive event with a wealth of opportunities for everyone involved. 🤝 As the Hatebur and Carlo Salvi Group, we took great pleasure in introducing attendees to the versatility and precision of our machines and equipment. Visitors at our booth were highly interested in the cutting-edge CS 663, our servo transfer module and of course the wide range of parts that can be produced on our machines. 🇮🇹 The excellent Italian catering definitely helped to draw attention. Yet, the centerpiece of our presentation was undoubtedly the virtual showroom. With its immersive experience, it allowed vistors to explore and experience our entire machine portfolio and sparked exciting conversations. 🙌 A heartfelt thank you to each member of our team and to everyone who joined us and made this event a milestone for our group!
